Embark Studios recently added a new skin for ARC Raiders to the in-game store, but players are upset because the advertised skin featured a white helmet that isn’t actually available in the game. On top of that, players have also noticed visual glitches with the new skin, where parts of the pants clip through the boots.
Like many ongoing online games, character skins have been a popular topic of discussion for players of ARC Raiders. The game’s developer, Embark Studios, previously expressed concern about overly flashy and unrealistic cosmetic items appearing in games like Call of Duty. Players worried ARC Raiders might do the same to make more money, but Embark promised that any skins would fit the game’s style and overall look. Now, after almost three months, it’s clear Embark has kept that promise – all the new skins available in the game are practical and realistic.
ARC Raiders Players Left Perplexed by New Marco Skin
Embark Studios launched its first new skin of the year for ARC Raiders on January 6th, but players noticed some misleading advertising. The “Marco” skin costs 1,150 Raider Tokens and has three color schemes: white and red, green and white, and red and blue. However, fans pointed out that the skin is being advertised with a white helmet, which isn’t actually one of the available options. Players are frustrated that the promotional image doesn’t accurately represent what they can purchase.
Players of ARC Raiders are voicing their frustration on the game’s subreddit about a cosmetic skin advertised with a color that isn’t available in-game. Many noticed a white version of the skin in promotional images but can’t select that color for their character. One player pointed out that Embark, the game developer, seems to be “straight up lying” about the helmet color in its ads. In addition to the misleading color, players have also discovered a visual glitch where the skin’s pants clip through the boots. While not a game-breaking problem, the skin costs premium currency, so players are disappointed by these issues.
The ARC Raiders community was disappointed today, as the expected first patch of the year didn’t launch. Embark Studios had announced a break over Christmas, but promised to return in January with improvements. They specifically mentioned they were working on reducing the power of Trigger Nades – which had become very popular – and fixing a problem where players were using software to fire the Kettle weapon too quickly. While the update didn’t arrive today, it’s likely to be released next Tuesday, as Embark usually releases updates on that day.
Although the first update of the year is taking a bit longer than expected, the future looks promising for ARC Raiders. The game has impressively held onto 91% of its players on Steam, showing strong player interest in future content. While Embark hasn’t shared its plans for 2026 yet, they’ve committed to supporting ARC Raiders with content updates for the next 10 years.
