I saw this awesome idea for a Legendary Augment in ARC Raiders, and honestly, it’s a game-changer for PvP. The community is totally hyped about it – over 9,000 of us are saying we want the developers to add it in a future update! Seriously, everyone seems to love the concept, and I can see why – it’s brilliant.
Player-versus-player combat (PvP) is a controversial topic in the game ARC Raiders. The game blends fighting AI enemies with battling other players (PvPvE), but not everyone thinks constant fighting is necessary. ARC Raiders is an “extraction shooter” where players risk losing all their collected items when entering a raid, which often leads to players cooperating and avoiding conflict. However, some players dislike being killed and losing their gear by others. While the game encourages PvP, many have requested a purely player-versus-environment (PvE) mode. Now, one player has proposed a new “Legendary Augment” that would significantly reduce the penalty for dying in battle.
In ARC Raiders, Augments are essential for customizing your gear. They change how much you can carry, your weight limit, and what kind of shields you can use. Currently, Augments come in four levels of rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic. The basic, free Augment provides a small boost to carrying capacity. Beyond that, you’ll find Augments focused on Looting, Combat, and Tactics, each available in Uncommon, Rare, and Epic versions. Epic Augments are the most powerful and come in different types, each with a special ability. For example, the Epic Tactical Mk.3 can heal a downed teammate, releasing a cloud that restores 20 health over 10 seconds when they are revived.
ARC Raiders Player Mocks Up Legendary Augment Concept
Since ARC Raiders includes powerful Legendary weapons and items, players are hoping the developers at Embark will eventually add a Legendary Augment. While Embark hasn’t announced any plans for this, one player has created a concept for an Augment that would prevent players from losing their favorite weapon when they’re defeated. The catch? This secure weapon slot would only be usable with Legendary weapons like the Equalizer, Jupiter, or Aphelion. The idea is to make challenging boss fights against enemies like the Queen or Matriarch less frustrating, as players often lose valuable gear – and sometimes get killed by other players – while attempting these battles.
I was thinking about how to make this new idea really work, and it seems like there should only be one guaranteed safe spot for a really powerful, Legendary weapon. There wouldn’t be any extra safe storage, so everything else you find would still be at risk. Basically, this upgrade would be all about taking down those tough ARC bosses – it wouldn’t help much with regular looting or fighting other players. I honestly think something like this could get more people involved in the end-game PvE content. Right now, a lot of players avoid it because they’re worried about getting their loot stolen in PvP, and this might change that.
The suggestion, posted earlier this week, has quickly gained popularity with over 9,000 upvotes. Fans are enthusiastic about it and are urging the game’s developer, Embark Studios, to implement it. One user commented, “This is a brilliant idea! Hope Embark sees this.” Another explained that it could benefit both types of players: those who prefer playing against the environment (PvE) would have a safer experience, while those who enjoy player-versus-player combat (PvP) would have more opportunities to engage with well-equipped opponents.
Okay, so a proper winter in ARC Raiders might not be happening just yet, but we’ve still got a lot to be excited about! The Cold Snap update is coming out on December 16th, and it’s going to change things up with a new snowfall condition hitting maps like Dam Battlegrounds and Buried City. Plus, there’s a brand new Raider Deck to challenge us, and a cool event called Flickering Flames. Honestly, I can’t wait to jump back in!
