As a big fan of ARC Raiders, I’ve seen tons of players, including myself, asking the developers at Embark Studios to bring back the skin we used in the tutorial! It seems like they might actually be considering it, which would be awesome. The outfits in ARC Raiders are a huge deal – people really like customizing their look and are willing to spend money on the cool, retro-style cosmetics. Now that the game’s getting more popular, everyone’s starting to ask for specific outfits, and the tutorial skin is by far the most requested thing right now.
Since it launched, ARC Raiders has been adding new character skins to its shop, and players can also unlock special looks as rewards. Most of these outfits match the game’s style, which is a retro-futuristic look inspired by science fiction shows from the 70s and 80s. However, one outfit in particular looks a little different from how fans remember seeing it before.
Fans Hope That the Expedition Skin Is the Tutorial One
So, Embark Studios just announced that if we finish the first big thing in ARC Raiders, the Expedition Project, we’ll unlock a new skin called the Patchwork Raider outfit. A lot of us are hoping it’s the same one we wear in the tutorial! You know, when you first start the game, you go through a quick intro mission to learn the ropes. During that part, your character is wearing this really cool, worn-out outfit – it’s all sandblasted and patched together, with a scarf covering your face and dusty goggles. Honestly, everyone loves that look because it just feels right for the game. It perfectly captures that scavenger vibe and fits the whole atmosphere and backstory of ARC Raiders.
ARC Raiders Fans Know What Is ‘Not’ the Patchwork Raider Skin
Players have been asking about the upcoming Patchwork Raider outfit on the official ARC Raiders Discord server. Some shared images they found in the game’s files, wondering if those were previews of the skin. However, the game’s community managers have clarified that at least two of these leaked images aren’t the Patchwork outfit, which has excited fans. Many now believe the Patchwork skin might be the unique outfit players use during the game’s tutorial, similar in style to Dune.
Image via Embark Studios Although this skin might be added to the game eventually, there are a couple of things to consider. First, its style doesn’t quite fit the overall look of the ARC Raider world. Compared to other outfits shown so far – including some found in the game files – the tutorial skin feels very distinct and doesn’t share the same vibe. This makes some players wonder if the developers will ignore this difference and add it anyway. Another issue is the skin’s potential name, “Patchwork.” This suggests an outfit made of stitched-together fabric, which might not match what players actually see during the tutorial.
Good news for players of ARC Raiders: Embark Studios is actively listening to its community and has a history of making changes based on feedback. They recently asked players for input on the game’s maps, which will help them make improvements. While the upcoming Patchwork Raider outfit might not be a tutorial skin, this shows Embark is likely to consider adding it in a future update if enough players want it. Fans won’t have to wait long to see the next skin reveal – the first ‘Expedition’ window is scheduled for December 17-22. In the meantime, players are encouraged to share their ideas and suggestions with the developers on platforms like Discord.
