ARC Raiders Responds to the Game’s Severe Cheating Problem

Following weeks of complaints from players, the developers of ARC Raiders, Embark Studios, have responded to the growing problem of cheaters and shared their plans to fix it in the coming weeks. In a statement released today, Embark said they are treating the issue as a high priority and will be making important changes to the game’s rules. They also plan to add new features for streamers to help prevent others from unfairly targeting them during broadcasts.

Cheating is a growing problem in online games like ARC Raiders, Call of Duty, and Battlefield. Game publishers and developers are constantly working to improve their anti-cheat measures, and many are even creating their own security systems. However, these systems aren’t without drawbacks. For example, EA’s anti-cheat for Battlefield and Activision’s Ricochet for Call of Duty both operate at a deep level within users’ computers, which raises privacy concerns because of the high level of access they require.

ARC Raiders Outlines Plans to Combat Cheaters

Hackers and cheaters have begun to impact ARC Raiders, the popular extraction shooter from Embark Studios. Since the game launched last October, those looking to exploit the system have taken notice. With Embark Studios recently returning from a Christmas break, players have been waiting for an official response. Now, a Community Manager has posted on the game’s Discord server, acknowledging the issue and assuring players that the studio is taking it very seriously.

Embark Studios announced they’re making major improvements to their anti-cheat systems over the coming weeks. This includes updated rules, better ways to detect cheaters, and stricter bans. They’re also addressing the frustrating out-of-bounds glitch in ARC Raiders with new fixes designed to resolve the issue.

The studio also announced plans to add new features for streamers to help prevent “stream sniping” – when players use a streamer’s broadcast to gain an unfair advantage. While most players won’t notice this issue, popular streamers like TheBurntPeanut, Shroud, and TimTheTatMan have repeatedly complained about it ruining their gameplay. Shroud, a former professional player in Counter-Strike and Valorant, strongly criticized the studio, saying they need to fix the cheating problem within the next week or risk losing these high-profile streamers to other games.

Good news for ARC Raiders players: the Embark team is back in the office and focused on tackling cheaters and improving the game. They’re planning significant balance changes in the next update, specifically reducing the power of both the Trigger Nade and Stitcher weapons. They’re also working to stop players from using programs to fire the Kettle weapon faster than is normally possible. While we don’t have a firm release date yet, Embark recently announced they’ll be releasing updates on Tuesdays instead of Thursdays, so the first update of 2026 could arrive as early as January 13th.
