ARC Raiders Reveals Plans To ‘Reduce Friction’ in Future Updates

Embark Studios has shared more information about the recent crafting improvements in ARC Raiders, and hinted at future plans to make the extraction shooter even smoother to play. Like all live service games, ARC Raiders is continuously updated and improved – it’s received a lot of new content and changes since its 2025 launch.

The recent Flashpoint update for ARC Raiders brought significant changes to the game. It introduced a new map condition called Close Scrutiny, along with new weapons like the Dolabra energy shotgun. Players can now encounter a unique in-game event on maps affected by Close Scrutiny, where they must extract loot from a new device called the Assessor. This is complicated by the Vaporizer, a new and challenging enemy. To add to the challenge, Shredders, previously limited to Stella Montis, have spread to all other maps.

ARC Raiders Addressing Additional Friction Points for Players

The Flashpoint update brought a major improvement to crafting in ARC Raiders. Players can now easily get the materials they need directly from the crafting screen, as well as recycle, refine, or buy them. This speeds up the process and reduces time spent navigating menus. The change was made based on player feedback, as many found the original crafting system confusing and time-consuming.

Embark recently explained the changes they made to crafting in a blog post. They added a new “Acquire Resources” button which simplifies gathering materials. When you click it, a list appears showing all available resources – what you have stored, what you can recycle, and what you can buy from Celeste. This helps players quickly get what they need without navigating through multiple menus, a common frustration players had previously reported to the Embark team.

Embark has stated in a recent blog post that these improvements to the game are only the beginning. They’ve acknowledged that there are still problems with ARC Raiders and are actively working to address player feedback. While a single update won’t solve everything, Embark promises more changes are coming, and they’ll share more details soon.

Embark is prioritizing improvements to the endgame experience in ARC Raiders. The studio recently acknowledged players want more to do after finishing the main content, and is planning to add more difficult challenges. We might see a preview of these plans with the upcoming Riven Tides update later this month. The update includes a new map—likely Volcano Rise—a new condition, and a large new ARC enemy, which many believe will be the long-awaited Emperor.
