They’re some of the most dangerous enemies you’ll face, and honestly, one of them can wipe out a whole team in seconds if you’re not careful. You really have to be smart and play cautiously when dealing with these fast, aggressive guys that wander around Stella Montis. They’re no joke!

Like all ARC Enemies, the Shredder robots have their weaknesses. This guide covers everything you need to know to take them down quickly – including where to aim for maximum damage, effective combat strategies, and the valuable salvage Raiders can collect from defeated Shredders.

Best Way To Beat Shredders in ARC Raiders

A lot of players are sharing ideas on how to defeat Shredders, including risky moves like close-quarters melee attacks or using smoke grenades with shotguns. However, none of these methods are actually effective enough to take down a Shredder in ARC Raiders.

These ARC enemies only have one attack, but it’s very powerful. Its range falls between the Hornet’s Stun Blast and the Wasp’s Bullet Spray. The Shredder attacks by firing shotgun bullets in a full circle, destroying anything not protected by cover.

Shredders are quick, tough enemies with strong armor. They have one key vulnerability: their thrusters. If you can shoot and destroy a thruster, it will cause the Shredder to fall to the ground. However, even after it’s downed, you’ll still need to finish it off completely.

Even when knocked down, Shredders can still attack, but their reach is shorter and their attacks come from a different angle. To finish off a Shredder, throw a grenade or use a Fireball Burner while it’s on the ground. If you set it on fire, its armor will be significantly weakened, making it easy to destroy with just a few more hits.

Shredders often drop the Shredder Gyro, along with other valuable recyclable materials you can sell. But the best rewards are typically found inside the Points of Interest where these tough ARC enemies hang out.

Currently, the only way to instantly destroy a shredder is by hitting it with a Wolfpack Grenade. All other grenades will only cause some damage, depending on their quality, and Raiders will still need to finish it off with a couple of shots.

If you want to win against Shredder, you’ll need a solid plan. Here’s how to improve your chances of surviving when playing in Stella Montis:

  1. Never attack a Shredder in an Open Space
  2. Get behind cover and shoot its thrusters
  3. If it falls to the ground, don’t approach, throw a grenade, or land more shots.
  4. Players can delete it using Wolfpack Grenades, but it will not be cost-effective.
  5. Heavy penetration weapons like the Anvil or Ferro seem to do the trick.
  6. Light and Medium Ammo weapons are ineffective: The Shredder has heavy armor.

Shredders are loud when they attack, which can attract enemy Raiders and increase your chances of being attacked while fighting them.

Okay, so when the Shredder starts going after me, my go-to move is to chuck a Lure Grenade towards the enemy players – that instantly makes the Shredder switch who it’s targeting. If that’s not an option, I’ll toss a Smoke Grenade to block its sensors and make a quick escape. Seriously though, the biggest tip is never try to fight a Shredder with enemies nearby. It’s just asking to get wrecked!
