The upcoming Shrouded Sky update for ARC Raiders, releasing on Tuesday, February 24th, appears to be adding a popular feature: facial hair. While Embark Studios hasn’t revealed all the details of the update, a promotional image shows a new character skin with a full beard – a feature players have requested since the game launched last year.
Earlier this year, Embark shared its plans for the first half of 2026 for the game ARC Raiders, detailing four big content updates. The first, called Headwinds, arrived in January and included a new, somewhat debated matchmaking feature for solo players, a new condition for the Buried City map, and a way to show off trophies. Now, the studio is preparing to release the second update, Shrouded Sky, which will be available next week on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
ARC Raiders Is Finally Adding Beards Next Week
As the release date for the ‘Shrouded Sky’ update for ARC Raiders approaches, Embark Studios is sharing details about the free content it will include. While they haven’t revealed much about the new enemy coming with the update, they’ve shown off the ‘Hurricane’ map condition and released a teaser trailer. Eagle-eyed viewers noticed something at the end of the trailer: beards! Fans have been requesting this customization option for months, as it’s already available in Embark’s other game, The Finals. It’s currently unknown if the update will include a variety of beard styles or just the one shown in the trailer.

Players excited about the Shrouded Sky update won’t have to wait much longer – it’s launching in just a few days! While the update will include the usual new content, bug fixes, and improvements, the biggest new feature revealed so far is the Hurricane map condition. Like the Cold Snap condition, Hurricane will likely appear on most of the ARC Raiders maps, including Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, and others. The developers say this new condition will bring “several intense gameplay challenges.”
The new Hurricane event will significantly impact movement in Topside thanks to strong winds. Players moving with the wind will feel faster and more agile, while moving against it will slow them down and quickly deplete their stamina. Wind will also affect thrown items like Trigger Nades, requiring players to adjust their aim and throwing technique. Additionally, the Hurricane will stir up dust and debris that can damage a player’s shield if they’re caught in it.
Players excited about new content in ARC Raiders won’t have to wait much longer! Embark has announced that the ‘Flashpoint’ update is coming in March, bringing a new map condition, a new enemy type, and another Player Project. Then, in April, the ‘Riven Tides’ update will add even more – including a large new enemy, a completely new map, and another map condition to master. So there’s plenty to look forward to in the coming months!
