As a huge fan of ARC Raiders, I was so excited when Embark Studios hinted at a new Acoustic Guitar coming in the big Cold Snap update! When the patch notes for version 1.7.0 finally dropped, they revealed even more – a new ‘Vibing Status’ effect that seems to work with all the in-game instruments. It’s a cool addition that really adds to the atmosphere!
The latest update added a feature where playing an instrument gives nearby players a ‘Vibing Status’ effect, according to the game’s patch notes. At first, players thought this just meant a message would appear on screen to show someone was playing music. But it turned out the effect actually does something more than just provide a visual notification.
What the Vibing Status Actually Does
The recent Cold Snap update to ARC Raiders added a fun feature called “Vibing Status.” When a raider plays music on the surface, players nearby will visibly nod their heads to the beat. Essentially, Vibing Status is a visual cue showing that players are reacting to the music.
Vibing Status is a visual effect, not a dance, and won’t make your character move differently. It’s a small head-bobbing animation, so you’ll have to look carefully to see it.
How to Trigger the Vibing Status
Unlike in ARC Raiders, where you have to choose to activate emotes, Vibing Status happens on its own. If a player nearby starts playing music, your character will automatically start bobbing their head to the beat. This stops if you move or do something else.
ARC Raiders Items with the Vibing Status Effect
So, in ARC Raiders, pretty much any instrument I play will get everyone around me ‘Vibing’! Right now, that includes the Recorder, Acoustic Guitar, and Shaker. I’m guessing if they add more instruments later on, they’ll do the same thing – get the whole crew feeling good!
As a big fan of ARC Raiders, I’ve learned that playing musical instruments isn’t just for fun! They actually attract the ARC enemies. If you’re brave (or maybe a little reckless) and play near them, they’ll come running to investigate – and attack! So, it’s a cool feature, but definitely risky.
ARC Raiders Instruments Can Play Synchronized Songs
Recent tests show that when players use multiple instruments simultaneously, they now create a harmonious tune. It’s not yet known if this ability was added with the Vibing Status update or if it was already possible. With three instruments to choose from, players can now create small ensembles and play different songs inspired by Speranza, which is a great new feature.
