ARC Raiders Will Have Optional Progression Wipes

ARC Raiders is introducing the Expedition Project, which allows players to optionally reset their progress for new challenges and rewards.

ARC Raiders is launching on October 30, 2025. The developers recently explained the reason for their quiet period: they were working on player-versus-player (PvP) features for the game. They’ve now shared details about the game’s progression reset system, confirming that it will be optional, not required.

ARC Raiders Expedition Project Makes Wipes Optional

So, the design director at ARC Raiders, Virgil, just dropped a pretty detailed post about how they’re handling progression wipes. Basically, they’ve confirmed they *aren’t* planning on forcing us to reset our progress, which is awesome – they said that’s what they’d do and they’re sticking to it. They get why a full reset could be fun for veterans who want a new challenge, but they also know not everyone has tons of time to grind everything over again. It’s good to see they’re thinking about all of us players!

At level 20, players can start ‘Projects’, beginning with the Expedition Project. Completing the Expedition Project allows players to reset their character, and they can repeat this process by finishing subsequent projects. The Expedition Project will be available for about 8 weeks, giving players time to make progress.

After the initial 8 weeks, players can submit their project for a final review period of one week. If the project meets all requirements, it will be approved. If it’s not quite ready, their progress will be saved, and they’ll have another opportunity to submit it when the next review period opens.

What Will Be Kept and Removed in ARC Raiders Progression Wipes

Your character’s progress – things like levels, skills, items, and crafting abilities – will be reset. However, any cosmetic items you’ve earned or bought, as well as achievements and rankings, will stay with you. Anything you’ve gained through playing the game or purchased with real money will be safe. Once you finish the main story, you’ll be able to skip the initial tutorial and unlock features and maps more quickly in future playthroughs.

Benefits of Completing Expedition Projects

Completing Expedition Projects in ARC Raiders will give players rewards, which are still being finalized. Players can expect permanent account unlocks for each completed Expedition, unique cosmetic items, and temporary account boosts that last for the next Expedition cycle. The more Expeditions players complete in a row, the stronger these boosts will become, up to a certain point.
