ARCTIC's New Compact PC Can Go Under Your Desk, If You're in Europe

As a seasoned tech enthusiast who’s spent years juggling towering PC towers and cluttered cables under my desk, I can’t help but feel a surge of relief and admiration upon learning about ARCTIC’s Senza. The under-desk AMD Ryzen-powered PC offers a breath of fresh air in the market with its passive cooling system that ensures silent operation and minimal wear and tear – something I could have only dreamed of in my noisy, fan-filled past.

ARCTIC, recognized for its computer cooling solutions, has introduced a fresh AMD Ryzen-driven desktop PC designed to rest under your workstation, ensuring quiet operation due to passive cooling. Dubbed the Senza, this desk-mounted PC is not intended to lead benchmark rankings; rather, it aims to provide a clutter-free workspace by eliminating a tower from your immediate surroundings. The Senza serves as an efficient daily workstation computer, allowing you to maximize space both on and beneath your desk.

As an ardent admirer of ARCTIC’s creations, I can attest that their products consistently exhibit top-notch design and robust construction, and the Senza is no exception. This device, resembling a substantial radiator in size but devoid of any fans, is a marvel of modern technology.

It has an all-black design with a small ARCTIC logo on the front. The separate I/O panel has markings for the different ports and buttons with the actual ports and buttons on the bottom side.

Inside, you’ll discover either an AMD Ryzen 5500GT, a 5700G, or a 5700G Pro, depending on your chosen setup. The Ryzen 5500GT configuration boasts AMD Radeon RX Vega 7 graphics and 16GB of RAM, whereas the other two configurations offer Radeon RX Vega 8 graphics and 32GB of RAM. All models come equipped with a standard 1TB TCL NVMe M.2 SSD.

In some entry-level gaming setups and compact computers such as the Stratos Micro Gaming Desktop or AVGPC Mini Gaming PC (Small Form Factor, SFF gaming PC), you might discover low-power components. Yet, if your goal is to declutter your workspace and conceal the computer itself, an alternative solution could be all-in-one desktop computers that are built directly into the desk.

For connectivity, you get Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and 2.5 G LAN. The front I/O panel includes a 3.5 mm TRRS combo jack, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, and a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A port, along with the power and reset buttons. At the back, you get a USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A port, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, an HDMI 2.0, and a DP 1.2 port.

As a gamer, I’ve gotta tell you, this setup’s unique – it doesn’t have a traditional cooling system. Instead, it’s passively cooled. The core components are nestled right in the heart of the PC, while the casing doubles as a heatsink on both sides. Even my SSD isn’t left out in the heat, sporting an ARCTIC M.2 Pro passive cooler for good measure. This design ensures whisper-quiet operation with no moving parts and less wear and tear over time.

The AMD Ryzen 5500GT and 5700G versions come with Windows 11 Home pre-installed, while the 5700G Pro version has Windows 11 Pro. This is the sole variation between the Pro and non-Pro editions of the 5700G.

ARCTIC Senza: Price and Availability

It’s unfortunate that the Senza will only be available in Europe. The basic 5500GT version, which retails for approximately 600 EUR ($633 US), comes as a ready-to-go PC. However, you’ll need to purchase a monitor, keyboard, and mouse separately to fully set it up. The 5700G model is priced at 700 EUR ($738 US), while the 5700G Pro version goes for 730 EUR ($730 US).
