Arena Breakout Infinite Offline Mode Doesn’t Exist Because It’s Too Risky and Expensive

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can truly appreciate the struggles developers face when it comes to creating offline modes for games like Arena Breakout Infinite. The desire for a solo experience in these multiplayer-centric titles is strong, especially considering the rampant cheating that plagues online gaming.

As a dedicated gamer, when Arena Breakout Infinite was unveiled, one of the first topics that sparked conversations within our community was whether this game would offer an offline mode. You see, in multiplayer games, cheaters can sometimes tarnish the fun, which is why many of us crave a single-player experience driven by AI opponents instead of human players.

I recently sat down with Enzo Zhang, the game’s producer, to talk about solo mode and the prospect of introducing PvE to Arena Breakout Infinite.

‘We Are Facing Some Challenges’

The team has made efforts to develop an offline mode for Arena Breakout Infinite, but they’ve acknowledged encountering difficulties. During my conversation with Enzo Zhang, I discovered that they understand the need for a solo play option in ABI, as it’s considered the ideal way to get acquainted with a fresh map.

With that in mind, the team at MoreFun Studios has faced extensive challenges in that area:

In ‘Solo Mode’ or ‘Offline Mode’, the processing of data can occur either on the server or locally for the user. When the data processing happens on the server to create a complete gaming environment tailored to one user, the costs become quite steep. Conversely, if the data processing takes place on the user end, it opens up the risk of exposing sensitive data to potential cheaters and hackers.

Right now, we don’t have an ideal solution yet.

According to Zhang’s latest remark, it appears that the team is continuing their efforts to incorporate an offline play option within Arena Breakout Infinite. While there’s still hope for this feature, the main focus of the company at present is on creating a robust, secure, and dependable multiplayer environment.

Lately, it’s come to my attention that the team is creating a groundbreaking AI model, which features AI companions that are incredibly intelligent and can converse using natural language. These companions will be used in games, and players will be able to command them on the battlefield as if they were actual people.
