This decision aligns with their ongoing strategy to include user-generated content in their expansion plans for Ark: Survival Evolved, which was first released in Early Access in October 2023.
Ark: Survival Evolved” has been consistently receiving fresh content along with updates like version 68.34, which rolled out in July 2025, addressing matters such as low frame rates and performance problems that occurred during sandstorms. Additionally, problematic bugs reported by players were resolved for “Ark: Survival Evolved” in its update from June 2025. These included issues related to progress within the game, milestones associated with boss fights, crafting gunpowder, and silica pearls.
Survival Ascended Adding Helicoprion on August 20
Survival Ascended. This creature is popular due to its inclusion in the widely downloaded mod pack called “ARK: Additions” created by Garuga123. The Helicoprion, known as the “buzzsaw shark” or “killer buzzsaw,” has distinctive features in Ark: Survival Ascended that align with its nickname. The developers mention that the Helicoprion is generally indifferent and shows a preference for Ammonite, but it may attack players only if provoked. They also plan to adjust the creature as it gets accustomed to its new environment. Interestingly, they suggest that crafters might find the Helicoprion useful due to its peculiar, spiral-patterned jaw.
In the game “Ark: Survival Ascended,” the Helicoprion is set to debut on August 20, 2025, and will be available for all players at no cost and without requiring a mod download. Apart from its previously mentioned crafting advantages, the Helicoprion is expected to be tameable in “Ark: Survival Ascended” due to its gentle demeanor, making it an ideal choice for deep-sea exploration. At this point, it’s uncertain if the Helicoprion will support breeding and mutations within the game, but considering it can be tamed, it’s probable that breeding capabilities will also be present.
