Summary
- Neil Druckmann confirmed another project at Naughty Dog besides Intergalactic.
- The game could be anything from The Last of Us Part 3 to a new IP.
- Druckmann will mentor on the new project, with a focus on Intergalactic and nurturing the new team.
Though Naughty Dog has disclosed their work on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, it’s worth noting that they’ve got quite a few dishes simmering as well.
In an exciting recent interview about the upcoming HBO The Last of Us Season 2 series, I myself was thrilled to learn directly from Neil Druckmann, our studio’s visionary leader, that he’s also working on another project!
Naughty Dog Has More Than One Project In Development

On the YouTube channel Press X to Continue, Druckamnn disclosed in a video call that they are developing another game apart from Intergalactic, and for this project, they will take on the role of producer instead of director.
Druckman reveals, “I’m involved in another project at Naughty Dog where I take on a producer role. This allows me to guide and offer advice to another team, acting as an executive, and providing feedback. I find these tasks quite enjoyable.
As a devoted admirer, I must confess that Druckmann isn’t dishing out much about the upcoming project. Whether it’s The Last of Us Part 3 (which seems far-fetched), another Jak & Daxter adventure, or an entirely new universe, the mere hint of something new from Naughty Dog has PlayStation enthusiasts buzzing with anticipation. Despite the enigma surrounding this game, we can’t help but be thrilled, given the exceptional caliber of their past creations.
As a dedicated fan of the Last of Us franchise, I can’t help but ponder if we’ll ever see The Last of Us Part 3 come to life. Neil Druckmann, the mastermind behind this smash-hit series, has been rather tight-lipped about the third installment when asked directly.
Currently, the studio is primarily working on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a science fiction action game that represents a departure from Naughty Dog’s usual genre. Although it won’t be released next year, it’s already in a playable state, and Druckmann finds this stage “incredible.
Neil Druckmann is currently working on wrapping up Season 2 of HBO’s The Last of Us TV series, which he co-oversees with Craig Mazin. This acclaimed television show adapts the game, although its narrative does have some minor differences. The penultimate episode titled “The Price” was aired yesterday, and the season finale is scheduled for May 25.
Without another game installed, it’s unlikely that the television series will delve beyond the existing storyline of the gaming franchise, as the creators are mindful to avoid repeating the narrative structure seen in “Game of Thrones.
