Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Appears on PEGI Ratings Site

Fans may be one step closer to seeing a remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. The PEGI ratings board recently listed a game called ‘Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’, suggesting a re-release or remake is in development.

The game listing hasn’t been updated with new details, simply stating it will include violence, strong language, and in-game purchases. However, this confirms the long-held belief that Ubisoft is finally ready to announce it after many years.

Black Flag Remake Seems To Be Called ‘Resynced’

If you’re unfamiliar with Assassin’s Creed, the core idea is ‘synchronization.’ Players roam large, open worlds and gradually familiarize themselves with the environment, essentially experiencing and connecting with the memories of their ancestors and the events of the past.

That’s why it’s appropriate for the Black Flag remake to be called Resynced.

The listing on the PEGI website doesn’t give much away:

Hey everyone, just wanted to share some info I saw on TopMob a little while back. They basically confirmed that the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake is coming out before the end of March 2026, which is awesome! I’ve been waiting for this one, and it’s good to finally have a timeframe.

Last September, reports suggested the upcoming Black Flag remake would focus more on role-playing elements. Ubisoft aimed to make the game similar in scope and ambition to their recent, larger titles, such as:

  • Origins
  • Odyssey
  • Valhalla
  • Shadows

Earlier this year, actor Matt Ryan, known for voicing Edward Kenway in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, shared that he received legal threats after suggesting at a fan event that a remake of Black Flag was in development.
