Initially, one might assume that the Assassin’s Creed series primarily revolves around assassins freeing people across various historical periods globally. In truth, however, Assassin’s Creed offers a multilayered narrative filled with enigmas and relics from an ancient past that have profound effects on both historical and contemporary Assassins and Templars. This forgotten era was initially suggested through artifacts of immense power called Pieces of Eden, which appear to be far beyond the capabilities of human technology from the last 3,000 years. As the Isu’s influence on human actions expanded over time, more information about these Pieces of Eden and their creators, the Isu, would gradually come to light.
Over the span of almost 18 years, numerous pieces of Isu technology and Artifacts of Eden have been discovered and influenced events across various Assassin’s Creed games. While many dedicated Assassin’s Creed enthusiasts might recognize the recurring Apples of Eden, some may not be fully aware of the other scattered Artifacts of Eden worldwide. With 30 games comprising the entirety of the Assassin’s Creed universe and a new one, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, on its way, here’s a list categorizing each Artifact of Eden and related Isu technology found in the Assassin’s Creed series, ranked by their relative power.
S-Tier Pieces of Eden in Assassin’s Creed
- Apples of Eden
- Atlantis Artifacts
- Gungnir
- Imperial Sceptre
- Papal Staff of Eden
- Scepter of Alexander the Great
- Seismic Temples
- Spear of Leonidas
- Staff of the Dikastes
- Staff of Hermes Trismegistus
In almost every Assassin’s Creed game, the most potent relics known as Apples of Eden are prevalent. These powerful spherical artifacts possess various functions, such as controlling humans without Isu DNA, serving as a knowledge repository for the Isu, displaying a holographic map of Isu devices worldwide, acting as a key to Isu facilities, and more. Characters like Al Mualim, Rodrigo Borgia, an alternate George Washington sought to rule the world using these Apples, while Altair Ibn-La’Ahad employed one to innovate technology such as the Hidden Gun.
While Artifacts from Eden like Apples have multiple uses albeit less destructive, they pale in comparison to the Seismic Temples of the Isu and Atlantis Artifacts in terms of power. The star-shaped components within Isu Seismic Temples can unleash devastating earthquakes if disturbed, as seen in the 1751 Port-au-Prince and 1755 Great Lisbon quakes which claimed thousands of lives. Atlantis Artifacts resemble Apples and have the ability to transform people into fearsome mythical beings such as Cyclops and Minotaurs. In contrast, the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus offers everlasting life, can heal various afflictions and injuries instantly, and even bring back the dead, like when Basim Ibn Ishaq was resuscitated upon landing on it in 2020.
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share a fascinating tale about the Apples of Eden. Originally crafted by the enigmatic Isu for the domination of ancient mankind, these mystical fruits were the instruments of subjugation until a dramatic turn of events unfolded. The hybrid offspring of humans and Isu, Adam and Eve, boldly seized an Apple and harnessed its extraordinary power to spark a bitter conflict between our species.

- Gae Bolg
- Hammer of Hephaistos
- Hades’ Bident
- Mace of Atlantis
- Minotaur’s Labrys
- Mjolnir
- Morrigan’s Guard
- Nodens’ Arc
- Polyphemos Cyclops Bludgeon
- Poseidon’s Trident
- Samsaama
- Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar
- Shrouds of Eden
- Swords of Eden
- Sword of Damokles
- The Observatory
Some artifacts known as Pieces of Eden retain significant power but may be less versatile or require complex procedures to operate effectively. For instance, the Shrouds of Eden can heal various illnesses and injuries much like the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus, yet they cannot grant immortality nor resurrect the deceased. Instead, these shrouds enhance a user’s strength and can facilitate rapid growth of an Isu body, as demonstrated in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. On the other hand, the Observatory isn’t a single Piece of Eden; it’s an Isu site that includes an armillary sphere. When partnered with a Crystal Skull and a person’s blood, this sphere can project real-time images of the individual’s activities. In essence, the Observatory is largely ineffective without a skull.
Apart from numerous other potent Artifacts crafted by the Isu, there exist legendary weapons like Excalibur, which not only emit energy blasts but also have the ability to momentarily blind individuals and boost the charisma of its user. Similarly, mythical weapons such as Mjolnir, capable of discharging lightning bolts and stunning adversaries, and Poseidon’s Trident, enabling its bearer to breathe underwater, were discovered to be Artifacts of Eden. However, these weapons primarily serve offensive purposes. In contrast, the Isu also created defensive tools such as Morrigan’s Guard, a shield that can release a cloud of poison when used to ward off an attack.
B-Tier Pieces of Eden in Assassin’s Creed
- Crown of Hades
- Crown of Poseidon
- Hugr-Rip
- Isu Pyramid
- Koh-i-Noor
- Lia Fail
- Patience Gibbs’ charm
- Prototype Crown
- Rings of Eden
- Salakar
In their dominion, the Isu created not only weapons and manipulative tools but also supportive garments and additional items. Among these, crowns were fashioned for Isu leaders like Hades and Poseidon, bestowing them with enhanced power, resistance to fire, and control within Atlantis, their city. In addition, various Eden Rings have been discovered, one of which was obtained by Connor Kenway in ‘Assassin’s Creed 3’, capable of creating a protective shield that deflects most projectiles. One particularly potent Eden accessory is the Hugr-Rip, which can drain an opponent’s life force and enable its user to transform into their victim.
In simpler terms, there were several immovable artifacts known as Pieces of Eden, which held immense power but weren’t easily transported by a single person. One such artifact was the Isu Pyramid, capable of foreseeing potential future events and enabling its user to access memories of nearby individuals. The Cult of Kosmos exploited this artifact to manipulate Greek history until it was destroyed by Deimos. Similarly, the Lia Fail, another Piece of Eden, was a stone-like object that allowed mind control, teleportation within local areas, and creation of illusions among other abilities. However, only those with Isu DNA could activate the Lia Fail, and it too met its end at the hands of Ciara ingen Medba and Eivor Varinsdottir.

simpler versions:
1. The less versatile Artifacts of Eden are those created for a single function or that necessitate the activation of other Artifacts to work effectively. Many of these types of Artifacts served as keys or devices opening ancient Isu facilities, like Freya’s Medallion, the Grand Temple Key, Odin’s Eye, Precursor Boxes. Although some had additional effects, such as Freya’s Medallion creating illusions, most of these mentioned Artifacts were primarily tools guiding people towards more powerful Isu relics.
2. The less multifunctional Artifacts of Eden are those designed for a single purpose or requiring assistance from other Artifacts to operate properly. Many such Artifacts acted as keys or devices unlocking ancient Isu facilities, like Freya’s Medallion, the Grand Temple Key, Odin’s Eye, Precursor Boxes. Although some had additional abilities, such as Freya’s Medallion creating illusions, most of these Artifacts were primarily tools leading people to more powerful Isu artifacts.
In the Assassin’s Creed series, many Artifacts of Eden were ineffective on their own, but required combination with other Isu artifacts to function properly. For instance, Blood Vials served as containers for holding blood that could be inserted into Crystal Skulls, which then allowed monitoring of life within the Observatory. The Heart of the Brotherhood was engineered solely to activate Prophecy Disks, and these disks were utilized for recording and displaying holographic messages. Additionally, Crystal Balls granted access to the Isu’s Nexus, but could not be used to inflict harm directly, despite their resemblance to Apples of Eden.
