Clues for locating Nobutsuna sensei are as follows: he’s in Omi province, specifically at Azuchi Castle, and not far from the training grounds. Inspect the marker labeled “Azuchi” on your map using your Scouts to find the waypoint.

At the designated spot, your goal will be to retrieve the letter within the structure. In case you’re finding it hard to locate the letter, utilize the “Observe” function to spot the small blue marker, which signifies the letter’s position.

As you delve into the letter, a series of events unfolds like a movie scene, placing you in the shoes of a youthful Yasuke, preparing for his training. Accompany the retainer to the training grounds to commence your journey.

The Duel Against Nagayoshi and the Rival Student

In your initial training exercise, you’ll be pitted against Nagayoshi in a duel. Although he’s not the toughest opponent, his unblockable attacks make him quite formidable.

In response to the majority of his attacks having red indicators, it’s wiser to evade rather than employ counterattacks. You should attempt to dodge whenever the red indicator shows up repeatedly during a sequence of his assaults.

Following the evasion of the latest red assault, Nagayoshi becomes momentarily stunned, providing an opportunity for you to inflict significant damage by maintaining a steady press on R2/RT.

After overcoming Nagayoshi in a duel, navigate back to your private quarters, and there you’ll face off against a fellow pupil in another duel. This swift encounter will require just a few quick strikes with your sword.

Lady Oichi and the Suspicious Man

Since you’ve emerged victorious in your duel against the fellow pupil, there’s about to be an encounter between Yasuke and Lady Oichi.

In this location, you have the chance to start a romantic journey with Lady Oichi. When she expresses concern about being away from family and home by saying “It must be lonely, so far away,” a dialogue option with a heart symbol will appear. Be sure to choose the heart symbol if you’re interested in pursuing a relationship with her.

Every time you see a heart symbol accompanying a dialogue choice, it hints that you have the opportunity to develop a romantic relationship with that particular character.

On the day following your chat with Lady Oichi, you’ll find yourself embarking on a pursuit, as there’s a shady individual to track down.

To maintain a steady speed, follow the man’s trail until you get to the farthest point of the castle. Make sure to stick with his direction markers along the way.

Eventually, the man will come to a halt, at which point you should move towards him to conclude the task. Subsequently, a sequence of scenes unfolds, ultimately guiding you towards your next tutorial – perfecting combos with Yasuke.

Mastering Attack Combos

Among the goals in the “An Education” mission within Assassin’s Creed Shadows, perfecting the combat combos is likely the most difficult to achieve.

In this section, there’s no room for errors; missing a single button press means starting the sequence over from scratch.

Below are some tips to follow:

  • Black circle with a white line: Hold down the corresponding button until the circle is filled.
  • Large white blinking circle: Tap the corresponding button.
  • Small white circle with shrinking outer line: Press the corresponding button when the line enters the circle.

To successfully finish this section of the mission, you must become proficient in five sets of combinations. I found it required several attempts to perfect these combinations, particularly the final two, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and patience.

Killing Masatoyo’s Students

In the culmination of the “An Education” mission, your task is to confront and eliminate Masatoyo’s disciples in a decisive battle. However, this confrontation presents a significant challenge as you will be outnumbered, with three adversaries against you, thus creating an unbalanced fight.

Fortunately, it’s just a matter of a few attempts to bring down each student. Be on the lookout for red indicators; try to avoid them as they approach. And don’t forget to counter the three blue ones that often follow.

As a gamer, I’ve noticed that there aren’t many visible cues in this battle, but when they do appear, a quick press of the counter key is all it takes to handle them effectively.

I suggest you play this section forcefully and strive to make attacks whenever you can. Keep in mind that Yasuke is significantly stronger than Naoe, enabling him to overcome most defensive moves and student counterattacks.

After all the students are killed, a brief cutscene will commence and the quest will conclude.

In the official progression of Yasuke’s adventures, you are now ready to embark upon the principal mission known as “Lady of Whispers.” This journey will also grant access to the “People of Omi” and “The Corrupt Daikan” series of quests.
