Ubisoft has officially announced the release date for the upcoming Claws of Awaji expansion in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, as well as additional features and improvements that many fans have been asking for since the base game launched this year. Since its initial release, Ubisoft has consistently updated and added new elements to the game, providing players with a steady stream of content at no extra charge.
After the release of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows”, additional content has been added such as enhanced parkour mechanics, Photo Mode options, fresh missions, and collaborative content with other games like “Balatro” and “Dead by Daylight”. Interestingly, “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” partnered with Critical Role, introducing a new character voiced by Robbie Daymond into the game. This collaboration also included a new quest designed to make him a recruitable ally in the game. However, Ubisoft continues to plan more content, details of which they have recently unveiled in a new roadmap update.
In their latest social media post, Assassin’s Creed revealed a timeline for the rollout of upcoming content and updates. This isn’t the first time they’ve shared a DLC schedule with fans, but this new roadmap offers specific launch dates. For instance, the New Game+ option and level cap increase are scheduled to be added as soon as July 29. Towards the beginning of September, fans can expect a quality-of-life update, hinting at free content, the ability to speed up the time of day, and more.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Claws of Awaji Release Date
- September 16
For enthusiasts, the most significant unveiling is that the Claws of Awaji expansion for “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” now has a confirmed release date on September 16. Ubisoft also emphasized that this new story chapter will offer more than 10 hours of gameplay, allowing players to delve into an entirely fresh region while confronting a new faction known as the Sanzoku Ippa. Additionally, new weapons are being incorporated, such as the Bo Staff for Naoe, which Ubisoft stated grants her the capacity to inflict various types of damage, including some non-lethal options.
The announced release date offers a slight reprieve for fans, as it’s set slightly earlier than the October debut of Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei. There has been much debate and comparison between these two highly anticipated games that are set in Feudal Japan. While Ghost of Yotei is primarily set in the northern regions of Japan, specifically Hokkaido, Sucker Punch’s Nate Fox and Jason Connell embrace the comparisons, finding it pleasant to see other games in this particular genre.
