Assassin’s Creed Shadows Pre-Orders In Line With Odyssey

According to a report from Eurogamer, Ubisoft announced that the pre-orders for Assassin’s Creed Shadows are comparable to those of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which is the second best-selling game in the series.
Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, expresses confidence in the game, noting that “early reviews have been encouraging.” He also praised the exceptional skill and hard work demonstrated by the entire Assassin’s Creed team as they strive to make Shadows live up to the expectations for the franchise’s most ambitious installment yet.
For Ubisoft, this development comes as a breath of fresh air since they’ve been experiencing a rough patch recently. Not only did their 2024 project, Star Wars Outlaws, fall short of commercial expectations, causing a significant drop in Ubisoft’s stock prices, but also their free-to-play venture XDefiant is closing its servers later this year due to an inability to maintain its player base.
Beyond this, it’s important to note that Ubisoft has also shuttered its UK studio located in Leamington Spa, resulting in approximately 180 job losses. Currently, Ubisoft is engaged in discussions with Tencent regarding a potential acquisition; however, this process appears to be delayed by the Guillemot family at present.
On our related platform, Game Rant, they got to play Assassin’s Creed Shadows for six hours. Their initial high hopes have grown even more, their concerns were resolved, and the game has surpassed their expectations.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on March 20 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
