Summary

  • Ubisoft is releasing new free content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, including story drops and fan-requested features like a parkour update.
  • Community feedback updates are planned for June, introducing new options like toggling headgear during cutscenes and an open world alarm system.
  • Paid DLC called Store Drops and Claws of Awaji Expansion will also be available alongside the free updates, expanding the game’s content.

Despite being a single-player game, Ubisoft hasn’t hesitated to unveil a plan for new content that will roll out in the near future for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Given its popularity, I’m not really taken aback, as it seems the publisher aims to keep gamers engaged with the latest version of this franchise.

Beyond additional content that requires purchase, numerous requested features by fans have also been confirmed for release. So, even if you decide not to get the post-release downloadable content, you’ll still be getting some updates as well.

It’s common knowledge that the game will receive paid downloadable content. Additionally, Ubisoft is introducing something they call “Story Drops.” These are fresh, complimentary quests offering new character abilities, allies, world activities, and even background stories for certain characters in the game. The first of these Story Drops is set to be available next month at no cost for all players who own the game.

Regarding fan and community suggestions, Ubisoft is set to launch another update in June, focusing on requests made earlier. This upcoming patch will introduce several new features that players can look forward to, such as an option to adjust character’s Head Gear visibility during cutscenes and dialogue, allowing players to turn off specific visual effects like weapon glints and assassination celebrations during combat, among others. Additionally, the Alarm System is being implemented into the open world, which should make gameplay more challenging for players.
