As an avid fan, I’m thrilled to share that I recently experienced the latest 1.0.5 update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, a testament to Ubisoft’s commitment to their beloved title. This fresh update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows introduces a gripping new story quest, a fascinating collaboration with another fan-favorite game, and enhancements to the gaming dynamics, all wrapped up with numerous bug fixes.
Launched in March, “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” has been a massive success for Ubisoft, according to data shared by the publisher. This game, following closely behind “Valhalla“, which was released during the pandemic and saw increased engagement in the gaming industry, was the second-largest launch in the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise for Ubisoft.
Just announced: The 1.0.5 update for “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” has arrived across all platforms! This update brings an exciting new addition – the previously pre-order exclusive quest, “Thrown to the Dogs,” is now accessible to all players. Moreover, the update includes a special crossover with the well-known game “Dead by Daylight.” This partnership offers gamers a fresh quest that rewards them with a free trinket and banner. Furthermore, two collaborations were made: a unique “Balatro”-inspired trinket for Naoe and an amulet for Yasuke, granting players a legendary perk with the chance to activate random affliction effects upon finishing combos.
Additional updates in the latest version include refinements to parkour moves like a fresh vertical leap, as well as boosted back and side exits for an even smoother gaming experience with Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The Photo Mode has also received upgrades, such as adjusting time settings, turning headgear on or off, saving custom filters, and more. Lastly, the new update addresses multiple bugs that have been affecting gameplay.
The recently introduced update for “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” follows closely on the heels of its significant predecessor, which was rolled out in early May. This previous update introduced the “The Works of Luis Frois” quest within the game, along with numerous bug fixes that addressed various issues in the open-world gameplay.
As Ubisoft continues to update “Assassin’s Creed Shadows”, gamers are eagerly anticipating the upcoming story DLC called “Claws of Awaji”. In this expansion, players will join Naoe and Yasuke on a journey to an unexplored island in Osaka Bay. The “Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Claws of Awaji” is set for release later in 2025, offering a fresh area to explore within the game. It’s expected that this expansion will offer at least 10 hours of new content, making it an substantial addition to the main game. There are whispers suggesting that the DLC might be released either in September or October, but this should be taken with caution as Ubisoft has not yet confirmed a specific release date.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Update 1.0.5 Patch Notes (May 26, 2025)
“Thrown to the Dogs” Quest Unlocked
In this new update, I’ll be among those lucky gamers getting early access to the pre-order bonus mission titled “Thrown to the Dogs.” This gripping tale revolves around helping a loyal canine seek revenge for his deceased master. As a reward for successfully completing this quest, you’ll gain Tsuki-maru as a charming pet addition to your Hideout!
You’ll find the mission accessible right from the start if you’ve progressed past the “From Spark to Flame” milestone. Located outside Osaka, specifically at the Tennoji Temple.
Dead By Daylight Event
We can’t wait to reveal our inaugural joint project through the upcoming Dead by Daylight event in Assassin’s Creed Shadows!
As the villagers start vanishing mysteriously, Naoe grows wary of the ominous force endangering the inhabitants of Harima. To prevail, you must learn special tactics and face a powerful extraterrestrial menace.
As a gamer, I’ve just discovered an exciting new development in the game! Upon unlocking Yasuke as a playable character, there’s a fresh quest waiting for me at the Hideout. Completing this event will reward me with a free trinket and banner. Can’t wait to dive back into the game and see what else is in store!
Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to customize your pair of characters even more by purchasing a package reminiscent of Dead by Daylight, available in our store. This pack includes outfits, weapons, trinkets, and an exclusive ride on none other than the faithful steed, Maurice, who will accompany you into the darkness.
Balatro Trinket
In addition to their existing gear, we’re introducing a novel charm for Naoe and an amulet named “Winning Hand” for Yasuke, inspired by Balatro. This fresh equipment comes with a legendary advantage: it offers a chance to activate a spontaneous effect on combo finishes, which could inflict a random status ailment.
Now… you will need to work together to figure out how to get it!
Parkour Improvements
Our team has developed numerous updates aimed at boosting the parkour features. We’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our committed parkour enthusiasts for their continuous input and suggestions since the game’s debut.
Here are the main changes:
New Vertical Jump
In a new update, you’ll be able to let both Naoe and Yasuke leap onto any ledges, awnings, or protruding surfaces they can reach, minimizing the use of vertical wall-runs. To activate this feature, just hit the jump key as you get close to low overhangs, and your character will perform the jump automatically.
Sprint Toggle Lock
Whenever I maintain the directional inputs, I find that I can keep sprinting smoothly whether I’m using Parkour Up or Parkour Down. This feature really enhances my movement in the game!
Enhanced Back and Side Ejects
We’ve made improvements to both the range and elevation of side and rear jumps, prioritizing feet landings over hand ones. This update comes with fresh animations for Naoe while executing height-increasing side ejects, thereby increasing her ability to stay airborne during parkour movements.
New Photo Mode Features
The largest update yet for the Photo Mode in an Assassin’s Creed game has been announced, introducing innovative features to offer improved customization options for your photos and maximize the stunning visuals of Feudal Japan.
These include the following options:
- Change the time of day
- Play around with numerous poses and facial expressions
- Toggle headgear on/off
- Play music while editing your shots
- Sticker colorization
- New customization frames
- Save Custom Filters
- Reset only one parameter
- Tweak camera speed
- Improved preview mode
- Fullscreen (PC only)
Delighted to present these fresh personalization choices to you! Feel free to showcase your latest Photomode captures using the hashtag #ACPhotoMode. A shot at getting highlighted on our social media platforms (@AssassinsCreed) awaits!
