Assassin’s Creed Shadows Will Adapt to the Character You Are Playing With

The Creative Director for Assassin’s Creed Shadows has disclosed that the game will adjust itself based on the character you choose to play.

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, players may find themselves questioning how they can switch between two characters, each with their own unique archetypes and backstories. If a player prefers a stealthy approach throughout their gameplay, they might want to focus on Naoe, or if they prefer an aggressive style, Yasuke could be their choice. Fortunately, the developers have unveiled that the game will adapt based on the player’s preferences, allowing for distinct experiences with each character, ensuring a unique adventure for everyone.

In an interview with Screenrant (through GamesRadar+), the creative director of the game, Jonathan Dumont, discussed the dual protagonist system for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. He clarified that characters Yasuke and Naoe have separate playstyles but their stories intertwine in a complementary manner.

In contrast, the narrative unfolds from two distinct perspectives: Naoe, being a Shinobi, and Yasuke, who is both a stranger yet a noble figure. Dumont appreciates the unique viewpoints each character brings to the world, as they perceive things slightly differently.

Dumont mentioned that each character from Assassin’s Creed Shadows will have their own unique introduction followed by individual storylines, meaning Yasuke won’t partake in Naoe’s personal quests, and Naoe won’t play through Yasuke’s personal quests. But, the creative director clarified that the main aspect of the game allows you to choose your character, and the game itself adjusts accordingly.

In addition, Dumont explained that there may be a few options scattered throughout the game, leaving some players curious about the fate of certain characters, but he assures they’re not missing anything significant. The developers aim to avoid compelling players to divide their time unnecessarily; instead, players have the freedom to focus on one character or maintain a balance as they see fit.
