Assassin's Creed Unity Fans Want Paris Olympics Outfit Added to the Game

As a dedicated gamer with a deep love for the Assassin’s Creed series, I couldn’t help but be thrilled when I saw that nod to my favorite game during the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony. The sight of a hooded figure freerunning and performing parkour across the rooftops of Paris, carrying a torch, was not only visually stunning but also sent chills down my spine.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony, Assassin’s Creed enthusiasts were in for a delightful surprise. Instead of the usual torchbearer, a cloaked figure showcased parkour skills and free-ran on Parisian rooftops while carrying a blazing torch. This agile figure bore a striking resemblance to Arno from Assassin’s Creed Unity. Intrigued fans have been urging Ubisoft to incorporate this unique costume into the 2014 game.

It’s plausible that Ubisoft had some involvement with the reference to “Assassin’s Creed Unity” at the 2024 Paris Olympics, considering their official Twitter account urged fans to watch Paris’ rooftops on the same day of the event. Given Ubisoft’s headquarters are in France and their past partnerships with France, it seems likely that they were at least informed about this homage to their franchise.

Following the Notre Dame Cathedral fire in 2019, Ubisoft made “Assassin’s Creed Unity” available for free (as fans showed great interest), contributed €500,000 towards restoration and reconstruction efforts, and offered any assistance and expertise they could provide. In light of these actions, it seems almost inevitable that Ubisoft will add the Paris Olympics outfit as a skin in the game, a suggestion that has been warmly welcomed by fans. Shortly after the incident, AC: Landmarks, the community Twitter page for “Assassin’s Creed,” called on Ubisoft and the developers to include this outfit as an option in the game.

Assassin’s Creed and The Paris Olympics

The feeling about this has gained popularity among the Assassin’s Creed fanbase, and if fans keep advocating for it, the chances appear even stronger. I had a conversation with Arshak Bdroos, the founder of AC: Landmarks, and he shared his perspective on this topic.

The integration of Assassin’s Creed into the Paris Olympics 2024 was a striking concept. It was particularly noteworthy when the Assassin character took part in the historical reenactments at the Olympics, including the French Revolution itself. Given that AC Unity is set during the French Revolution era, it would be logical for the Olympics outfit to be made available as a skin in the game. My social media post advocating for this feature garnered widespread support. The statistics indicate that fans are enthusiastic about this idea. This addition would not only allow players to explore Parisian landmarks wearing the same outfit but also demonstrate Ubisoft’s close bond with France and contribute to cherished memorabilia.

As an avid fan of the Assassin’s Creed series, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on November 12. This time around, we’ll be transported to Japan, a long-awaited setting for many of us in the community. We’ll have the opportunity to embody two new characters: African samurai Yasuke and Japanese shinobi Naoe, as we delve deeper into the Assassin-Templar War.
