Having spent countless hours on the virtual tracks of its predecessor, I’ve grown fond of the series and am eager to dive back into the world of Kunos Simulazioni.

Fans of racing games can get an early taste of driving a variety of vehicles on some of the world’s biggest tracks when Assetto Corsa Evo, developed by its creators, launches on January 16, 2025. The game, published by 505 Games, is scheduled for release in the fall of next year.

The upcoming third installment in the series of realistic racing games by Kunos Simulazioni is called Assetto Corsa Evo. Before its early access debut, additional information about a pre-release version of the game has been made available for the public’s scrutiny.

On January 16, 2025, the first early access release of Assetto Corsa Evo will debut with 20 cars across different performance levels and vehicle categories from various manufacturers, as revealed in a recent developer diary by Kunos Simulazioni co-founder and manager Marco Massarutto. Although the specific models weren’t mentioned, some car brands hinted at in the video are known for appearing in other racing games such as Forza Motorsport, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Toyota, and Volkswagen.

  • January 16, 2025

During the early access phase of the game, you’ll get to drive on five different tracks: Laguna Seca Raceway in the US, Brands Hatch in England, Imola Circuit in Italy, Mount Panorama Circuit in Australia, and Suzuka Circuit in Japan. This pre-release version will offer a sneak peek into Assetto Corsa Evo’s single-player mode and its exciting open-world feature. The single-player experience includes practice sessions, quick races, and the Driving Academy mode, all of which will be accessible during early access. Massarutto mentioned that the Driving Academy, a new addition to the franchise, allows players to learn the racetracks. Additionally, when Assetto Corsa Evo’s economy system becomes active, you’ll be able to earn licenses for your dream cars within this academy.

In the free-roam setting, players will have the opportunity to navigate a digital recreation of the mountainous Eifel region in Germany, which encompasses the renowned Nürburgring racing circuit. The developers of Assetto Corsa Evo announced in a recent blog post that the game’s open-world section, once completed, will cover approximately 1,600 square kilometers (equivalent to around 618 square miles), roughly equivalent to the total land area of Houston, Texas. Kunos Simulazioni has scheduled the release of Assetto Corsa Evo’s open-world component in stages, with the initial phase set for summer 2025.

According to Massarutto, the complete edition of Assetto Corsa Evo will feature a collection of 100 cars and 15 real-life racetracks that have been officially licensed. During its early access phase, player feedback was gathered which will be used to perfect the gameplay, enhance performance, and add a polished touch.
