As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the “Building Speed” DLC stage for Astro Bot is nothing short of a thrilling ride! It’s reminiscent of the bonus stages from Astro’s Playroom, but with its unique twist – a race against time.
The initial free DLC level for Astro Bot is named “Building Speed”. Similar to extra stages found in Astro’s Playroom, this level challenges players to reach the end as swiftly as they can. Completing the course without damage will earn two special VIP Bots for players of Astro Bot.
From my perspective as a devoted fan, the design of this stage seems to draw heavy inspiration from the Construction Derby stage nestled within the Gorilla Nebula. I find myself having to maneuver around cranes and suspended platforms to reach the finish line, similar to that iconic stage. And let’s not forget about Barkster, the trusty bulldog booster, who was equally crucial in Construction Derby.
How to Complete Building Speed
To conquer the level named Building Speed, gamers should utilize Barkster and the light-blue trampolines strategically to navigate through the initial part smoothly. Subsequently, they must traverse across the shifting beams. The crane on the left side can be employed along with a clever dash to bypass a significant part of the stage if desired, but this shortcut is optional for those who just aim to reach the end.
The upcoming part features several glass platforms that can be bypassed using Barkster or Astro’s rocket boosters. After that, players must sprint towards the blue Barkster bouncing pads to access the higher region where additional bouncing pads await. Following this, they’ll encounter a carwash-like area followed by a slope with an electric pad at its base; players should leap over it to land on the blue bouncing pad located on the opposite side.
Following a sprint among some containers, players arrive at another incline and rotating red platforms. To progress, they should aim for a sprint towards the center of these platforms, then leap onto the floating blue trampoline pad positioned right in front. From there, the objective is to sprint into the final Barkster trampoline pad, which will propel players directly to the end of the stage.
Building Speed Cameo Bots
As a gamer, I can tell you that reaching the end of the stage grants access to not one but two unique Building Speed VIP Bots. One of them resembles the hero from Rise of the Ronin, while the other is a Helldiver straight outta Helldivers 2. Once they’re unlocked, you’ll find both bots at the Crash Site. Special goodies for each can be acquired from the Gatcha Lab – the Helldiver gets a one-way shuttle, and the masterless samurai receives a glider to soar through the skies!
