Astro Bot Creative Director Addresses Potential PSVR2 & PC Releases

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a tad disappointed by the recent revelations about Astro Bot. On one hand, I’m thrilled that it’s finally coming out, and the 12-15 hours of gameplay sounds promising. But on the other, learning that it won’t be available on PSVR2 or PC is a bit of a letdown.

In a recent chat with MinnMax, Astro Bot’s creative director, Nicolas Doucet, provided some insights about potential launches of the upcoming game on PlayStation VR2 and PC platforms.

At the beginning of the conversation, Doucet stated that there’s “no possibility” the upcoming Astro Bot game will be available on PSVR2. He clarified that it was designed for a distinct medium and transforming Astro Bot for PSVR2 would result in a different game altogether.

Shortly after, the interviewer inquired about a possible PC release, wanting to know if Doucet had any messages for PC gamers eager to play Astro Bot. Doucet expressed that “we definitely want to hear from you, yes, we definitely want to hear your thoughts.”

In May’s PlayStation State of Play event, after much speculation, Sony officially unveiled Astro Bot. The debut trailer confirmed that the game would release on September 6, 2024, and it will only be playable on the PlayStation 5 console.

Ever since that initial reveal, I’ve been eagerly keeping tabs on any new tidbits about Astro Bot. Just last month, in a chat with Doucet, the creative director shared some exciting details! He confirmed that the gameplay time for Astro Bot is estimated to be approximately 12 to 15 hours, not including the time spent on completing all the collectibles.

As an enthusiastic gamer, I was thrilled to discover that the highly-anticipated Astro Bot would include over a hundred PlayStation nods! Later on, a sneaky peek gave us an idea about the game’s size – something fans like me are eagerly waiting to dive into!
