As a seasoned platformer enthusiast who’s navigated through countless pixelated realms, I must say, the Go-Go Archipelago in Astro’s Playroom is an absolute gem! The hidden bots and puzzle pieces scattered across these islands are a delight to discover, each one offering its unique charm that harks back to some of our favorite gaming icons.
The Go-Go Archipelago is the initial level within the Tentacle System, filled with goodies for players of Astro Bot to discover. Alongside seven standard Bots (two being exclusive VIP Bots), you’ll also have to locate three Puzzle Pieces and a hidden warp to a Lost Galaxy. Finding these items can sometimes prove quite challenging!
Throughout this entire level, there’s a pirate motif with a distinctive mini-boss that must be defeated using the stage’s special abilities. On your way to confront Captain Pincher, players controlling Astro Bot should stay alert because some of the Go-Go Archipelago! collectibles might be tricky to locate.
Go-Go Archipelago! Puzzle Piece #1
Adventurers will discover the initial piece of the Go-Go Archipelago puzzle while soaring onto the level aboard their Dual Speeder. This elusive piece is being transported by a toucan, who swoops across the screen from right to left.
Go-Go Archipelago! Bot #1
For the initial experience in the Go-Go Archipelago, you’ll find our bot securely fastened to a palm tree on the beach’s right side, where adventurers initially touch down.
Go-Go Archipelago! Bot #2
The area’s second Bot can be found sheltering under a giant helmet on a large rock to the left of the beach area.
Go-Go Archipelago! Puzzle Piece #2
Once players get to the second control point, they must use their hands to open a shell and toss stones towards containers positioned to their left. However, if they aim a stone at the container on their right, it will uncover some bananas which in turn, trigger the game’s second Puzzle Piece puzzle.
Go-Go Archipelago! Bot #3
Shortly following the acquisition of the second puzzle piece, players will reach a spot where they should stomp on the ground to cause three cactus blossoms to pop up. On a rocky outcropping above is an adversary resembling a clam, within which lies the next robot character.
Go-Go Archipelago! Bot #4
In the fourth Go-Go Archipelago, you’ll encounter a character reminiscent of Yorda from Ico, who goes by the name Bot. This Bot is kept in a pen on the main path. If players use their monkey power-up to create a vibration near the pen, the pen will topple and shatter, enabling players to descend to the lower area and save the Bot.

Near the spot where the players saved Yorda, they’ll come across a sizable boulder perched on a tiny rocky islet in the water. If they hurl this boulder at the wall nearby, adorned with a face, it will uncover a green wall that the players can then push to open, unveiling the fifth Go-Go Archipelago!
Go-Go Archipelago! Bot #6
On their climb up the mountain, adventurers will encounter a pirate vessel split in two. Inside the rear part, there’s a yellow platform on the ground that can be activated using the monkey power-up, causing a cable to shoot towards another ship further away. Upon reaching this second ship through some vertical exploration, they’ll discover an Ico-inspired robot figure.
Go-Go Archipelago! Bot #7
At last, you reach the Go-Go Archipelago! In your path, there’s a barrel concealing our Bot, situated not far from a designated point. To save the Bot, players must yank on a rope to uncover the barrel.
Go-Go Archipelago! Puzzle Piece #3
Upon reaching the peak’s last ascent, players will discover a colossal rock right before a checkpoint. Hurl this stone against the close-by wall’s visage to expose the last piece of the hidden Go-Go Archipelago Puzzle!
Go-Go Archipelago! Portal / Secret Exit
Once players successfully conquer the mini-boss, Captain Pincher, at the stage’s end, his claw will sink into the sand near a tree stump, resulting in a blue X marking the spot on the ground. Standing on this spot and executing a spinning punch maneuver will transport them to a concealed location. In this secret area, they’ll discover Captain Pincher’s hidden stash of treasure and the Go-Go Archipelago! Lost Galaxy warp portal.
