As a seasoned Astro Bot enthusiast with over 100 hours under my belt, I can confidently say that Let It Slide is one of the most exhilarating and challenging stages in this already stellar game. This high-speed rollercoaster ride tests your reflexes, strategy, and mastery of the ice ramps like no other stage before it.
In the lineup of five downloadable content stages for Astro Bot, “Let It Slide” occupies the second spot. Similar to previous post-release content, this level is hidden within the Stellar Speedway galaxy. The objective is to navigate through the stage as swiftly as you can, reaching the end in record time to acquire two fresh VIP Bots.
In order to gain access to both hidden characters, players of Astro Bot must complete the level “Let It Slide” within 50 seconds or less. This task might seem straightforward, but it can be quite challenging to accomplish. To assist you with this, we’ve provided a walkthrough for Let It Slide and the video above offers guidance as well. These resources should prove very useful, especially for those who are new to speedrunning stages.
How to Complete Let It Slide
To conquer Let It Slide swiftly, take advantage of every shortcut available by utilizing the elephant power-up to form ice ramps. As you play, fill up at the first ice pool you encounter, then quickly move left using two ice ramps to reach the platform with spinning blades. Shortly after, there’ll be a glass floor where another ice ramp can help you get to some distant spinning blocks.
These blocks are coated with a tacky material that can serve as a landing spot for players sliding down an icy ramp. If not, players can aim for the stationary platform immediately ahead and safely move across it, as demonstrated in the video above. Once they’ve crossed the blocks, players should replenish their ice ramps and then employ one to navigate around the subsequent spinning blades. Afterwards, they can refill themselves.
From here, it’s a simple case of using the three ice ramps to skip across to the left and then navigating the crumbling platforms to reach the finish line. If players struggle with tight platform, they may want to use their first two ice ramps to reach the existing one, thus saving one final ice ramp to skip over some of the crumbling platforms.
Let It Slide Cameo Bots
To gain access to both Let It Slide VIP Bots, players must reach the final stage ahead of the two birds. Defeating the blue bird within 65 seconds will grant an Eve-from-Stellar Blade themed Cameo Bot, whereas surpassing the red bird’s time of 50 seconds will award another Helldiver Cameo Bot similar to the one obtained in the Building Speed DLC stage. After successfully unlocking her, players can obtain a damaged vending machine featuring Eve from the Gatcha Lab.
