Astro Bot Sells 1.5 Million Units 2 Months After Launch

As someone who has been a PlayStation enthusiast since the days of the original PlayStation, I must say that Astro Bot‘s 1.5 million units sold in its first two months is nothing short of phenomenal! Having witnessed the journey of many PlayStation exclusives over the years, it’s truly heartening to see a game like Astro Bot receive such widespread acclaim and commercial success.

Sony revealed that the unique PlayStation game, Astro Bot, managed to sell a staggering 1.5 million copies within just its initial two months on sale.

The news was disclosed through the firm’s second quarter financial reports, showing that by November 3, Astro Bot had already sold approximately 1.5 million copies. This figure is close to being reached two months before its scheduled launch on September 6, 2024.

Astro Bot, a game, garnered widespread praise on Metacritic, a review aggregator, and was rated 94/100 based on 138 reviews. Users also shared this positive sentiment, awarding the game a 9.3 out of 10. With such widespread acclaim, Astro Bot is considered a strong contender for Game of The Year at The Game Awards in December 2024.

It’s uncertain if the 1.5 million unit sales figure is in line with Team Asobi and PlayStation’s expectations for the game, since neither party has shared their thoughts on the matter so far.

Nevertheless, Team Asobi has persisted in providing updates for the game after its launch, introducing fresh speedrun stages each week and new bots to gather.

Astro Bot released on September 6, 2024 exclusively on the PlayStation 5.
