Astro Bot speed run levels coming over five weeks, starting tomorrow

As a seasoned gamer who has spent countless hours mastering the art of speed running games, I am absolutely thrilled by the upcoming content drop for Astro Bot: Rescue Mission! After immersing myself in the captivating world of Astro’s Playroom and falling in love with the charming characters, I was yearning for more challenges to test my platforming skills.

Hey there, fellow gaming enthusiast! Let me tell you something exciting – one thing that was missing in the mind-blowing platform adventure that is Astro Bot was the thrill of speed run levels, just like we’ve got in Astro’s Playroom. But guess what? That’s about to change, starting tomorrow (October 17th)! Team Asobi is going to start dropping weekly content, and it all begins with the addition of those much-anticipated speed run levels. Can’t wait to jump back in and race against time again!

According to an announcement on the PlayStation blog, Nicolas Doucet, who is the Studio Director at Team Asobi, expressed gratitude towards Astro Bot players. He stated that they are thrilled by the responses from players, ranging from young to older individuals. This has brought joy not only to himself but also to all the team members at Team Asobi HQ.

About the speed-run stages, Doucet mentioned that they would challenge your platforming abilities. Additionally, with an online ranking system, you’ll have the opportunity to compete against all your PlayStation peers.

With the aid of Barkster, the canine city-soaring accelerator, you’ll propel yourself vertically through a towering metropolis! Swerve to avoid construction cranes, shatter crates as you go, and jet across a moving car wash in your quest to save your grounded team.

After mastering each level’s jumps, hovers, and spins, you can expect a fresh speedrun stage to be unveiled weekly. This means that as soon as you conquer one level, another exciting challenge will pop up for you!

Here’s the release schedule, then:

  • Oct 17: Building Speed
  • Oct 24: Let it Slide
  • Oct 31: Spring-loaded Run
  • Nov 7: Helium Heights
  • Nov 14: Rising Heat

Here’s one way to rephrase it in a more natural and easy-to-understand manner:

Astro Bot is out now for PlayStation 5.
