Asus Launching Monitors That Purify Air

Asus has unveiled a new series of monitors boasting an innovative air-purifying function. The new VU Air Ionizer monitor family consists of three models: the 23.8-inch Asus VU249HFI-W with IPS panel, the 27-inch IPS Asus VU279HFI-W, and the 34-inch VA Asus VU34WCIP-W.

These monitors come equipped with a VU Air Ionizer that, according to Asus, can eliminate approximately 90% of airborne particles within a span of three hours, helping to eradicate common allergens and enhance overall indoor air cleanliness.

According to Asus, the ionizer offers a 1 cubic meter coverage area, effectively cleansing the air within a workspace for improved comfort during work. Notably, the ASUS VU Air Ionizer series doesn’t need filters; instead, it harmoniously blends air purification and advanced display technologies into one sleek design.

Regarding their specifications, all the monitors, regardless of size, offer a refresh rate of 100Hz and a rapid response time of 1ms. Both the 23.8-inch and 27-inch models feature IPS (In-Plane Switching) panels with wide viewing angles of 178 degrees. The 34-inch monitor is an ultrawide VA (Vertical Alignment) panel, also boasting 178-degree viewing angles. The two standard 16:9 displays emit light at a brightness of 250 nits, while the ultrawide 21:9 model increases this to 300 nits.

The smallest screen measures 23.8 inches and costs $129.99. For a larger 27-inch display, you’ll pay $159.99. If you’re interested in the Ultrawide air purifier, it retails at $359.99.
