From the moment I unbox it, the ASUS ROG G700 gaming desktop stands out with its clean, sleek design and flashy yet sophisticated aesthetic that seamlessly blends into various setups. However, once powered up, the experience takes a turn for the extraordinary. The smooth RGB lighting adds an element of visual appeal, highlighting the well-thought-out interior layout of the chassis, visible through the tower’s dual tempered glass panels and designed with optimal airflow in mind.
The internal components are thoughtfully organized for a sleek minimalist design that provides ample room for numerous future upgrades. Moreover, featuring three fans at the front of the case, one fan near the GPU at the back, and vents almost everywhere on the tower, the ASUS ROG G700 gaming desktop virtually ensures that extended gaming sessions won’t strain the PC’s hardware excessively.
This specific ASUS ROG G700 model is equipped with an Intel processor and boasts a cutting-edge NVIDIA 50-series graphics card, which can be viewed from the glass panel on the left side of the tower. Furthermore, even the cable casings are adorned with RGB lighting, making them harmonize with the overall design instead of standing out awkwardly. Mostly, the fans spike up during startup, when launching a game, or when multitasking with several applications. In all other instances, the ROG G700 behaves like a stealthy powerhouse.
Testing the ASUS ROG G700 Gaming Desktop
Certainly, declaring that the ASUS ROG G700 can handle work is easy, but truly assessing its capabilities is a different story. Luckily, this laptop held up well under pressure when I tested it with some of the most demanding video games from 2025.
We initially performed our first test on the ASUS ROG G700 using the recent hit game, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Set at the “Epic” graphics setting, this specific model had some difficulty, but lowering it to “High” improved performance almost entirely (approximately 99% of the time). It should be noted that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a newly released game, and it may require optimization updates, particularly based on our subsequent testing results.
Luckily, the G700 lived up to expectations when subjected to rigorous testing using some of the most demanding video games from 2025.
Moving forward, I dived into Ubisoft’s new offering, “Assassin’s Creed Shadows.” To my delight, it performed remarkably well, even with the visuals cranked up to “Ultra High.” The game ran smoothly, maintaining a steady frame rate, even in crowded areas. The graphics were simply stunning overall. Not long after, I tackled “Alan Wake 2,” known for its high-end PC requirements. Despite being one of the most demanding games out there, it ran fairly smoothly on maximum settings, save for occasional hiccups.
During the testing process, the ASUS ROG G700 produced minimal heat output, making it barely perceptible. Although it did become slightly warm during gameplay of Alan Wake 2, this is to be expected. However, what stands out most is that the PC remained quiet throughout every gaming session. Additionally, load times were remarkably quick, and the computer’s power enabled smooth gameplay on many high settings.
It’s important to mention that the ASUS ROG G700 has the capability for more extensive upgrades than our test setup, as it offers tool-free access through both the side and front panels, making it convenient for users to perform upgrade tasks.
In essence, the ASUS ROG G700 gaming desktop strikes an impressive balance between power, aesthetics, and functionality without appearing overly showy. At its heart, it’s a sleek and potent machine capable of matching the demands of today’s most challenging games, all while providing the adaptability and heat management that modern PC gamers would anticipate from a contemporary setup. Although there are numerous gaming desktops claiming similar features, the ASUS ROG G700 demonstrates its worth in areas that truly matter: consistent performance, robust cooling, and a design as future-proof as its hardware.
