- Gallywix faces a possible demise as the final boss in the new raid.
In the narrative arc of World of Warcraft’s Patch 11.1, Gallywix eliminates Renzik “The Shiv”, a renowned Goblin Rogue character, in an attempt to kill Gazlowe. Despite being part of World of Warcraft since its initial release, Renzik’s demise significantly impacts the storyline of Patch 11.1, titled Undermined.
Lately, the Public Test Realm has been hosting Patch 11.1 for World of Warcraft, offering fans a sneak peek at its contents. Besides discovering new collectibles in World of Warcraft such as campsites, players also had the opportunity to journey to Undermine and explore the majority of the campaign chapters that will be part of the upcoming update.
In my World of Warcraft adventure, I found myself journeying to the treacherous Goblin capital of Undermine as part of a mission to stop Gallywix, grab the Dark Heart, and keep Xal’atath at bay. Accompanied by Gazlowe, the Bilgewater Cartel’s head honcho and Horde stalwart, and Renzik “The Shiv” – a high-ranking member of the Alliance’s SI:7 spy network – we aimed to turn the tide in this chaotic city. Gazlowe seemed reluctant to get embroiled in its politics, but Renzik insisted he was just what Undermine needed to prosper.
Unfortunately, our actions caught Gallywix’s attention, drawing a deadly sniper into play. In a heart-stopping moment, the sniper took aim at Gazlowe – only for his shot to strike Renzik instead. The shocking event was chronicled by fellow WoW fan and lore expert Portergauge on Twitter.
Renzik “The Shiv” Dies in World of Warcraft Patch 11.1
In the game World of Warcraft, Renzik may not be the main character, but he’s a familiar figure, particularly to Alliance Rogues. When World of Warcraft was first introduced 20 years ago, Renzik was among the initial Rogue quest providers and trainers that players encountered in Stormwind. This makes him one of the earliest Goblin NPCs in World of Warcraft, preceding playable Goblins by six years.
Fortunately, Renzik’s demise serves a purpose. His selfless act inspires Gazlowe to take action against Gallywix, who becomes determined to oust him at any cost. With the support of other Trade Princes and the citizens of Undermine, he initiates a revolution, sparking the new Liberation of Undermine raid in World of Warcraft. In his attempt to eliminate Gazlowe, Gallywix unwittingly elevates Renzik into a martyr.
It’s worth noting that Renzik might not be the sole legendary Goblin to perish in Patch 11.1. The notorious Chrome King Gallywix, who is the final boss in the Liberation of Undermine mission, is expected to meet his end. However, this battle won’t be accessible until the patch goes live. Historically, few final raid bosses in World of Warcraft manage to survive their encounters with characters, so it seems likely that Gallywix’s time is running out.
