Atakhan In League Of Legends, Explained

In the League of Legends, Atakhan has been introduced as a new neutral objective. He joins the ranks of Epic Monsters like Baron Nashor and the Elemental Dragons. Often referred to as ‘Bringer of Ruin’, Atakhan is set to debut in the Noxus Invasion for Season 1 of 2025. What sets him apart from other bosses is that his spawn location and form are determined by previous in-game actions.

As a film critic, I’d say these two elements are game-changers indeed! They breathe fresh life into each gaming experience, ensuring no two games feel the same. Strategies must be finessed and priorities reassessed based on the enigmatic Atakhan and the broader game dynamics.

When & Where Will Atakhan Spawn In League Of Legends?

Atakhan’s Spawn Time

In simpler terms, Atakhan will appear every time after exactly 20 minutes have passed in the game. This delay, however, pushes the appearance of Baron (another entity) to the 25-minute mark instead.

Atakhan’s Pit Location

Atakhan’s Pit, a battleground for players against him, consistently appears at the 14-minute point along the river. But, based on which part of the map has sustained more damage and resulted in more kills, this pit may appear in the river adjacent to either the Top Lane or the Bot Lane.

Regardless of the approach, these six minutes serve as a window for teams to strategize against me, Atakhan. The arena in my Pit consistently features two sturdy walls, adding an extra layer of intensity to our encounters. Interestingly, even after I’ve been defeated, these walls remain standing, becoming permanent fixtures in the arena.

Which Form Of Atakhan Will Spawn & Why?

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’d like to share an intriguing aspect of the game world: it’s not just Atakhan’s location that gets decided by action. Instead, this character has two distinct forms! In games with less champion damage and kills, you’ll find me, or should I say, Voracious Atakhan, emerging onto the scene.

If the initial 14 minutes of the game are filled with high champion damage and numerous kills, it’s likely that Ruinous Atakhan will enter the Rift.

As well as his visuals, the main difference between Atakhan’s two forms is the buff they grant.

Voracious Atakhan’s Buff In League Of Legends

In lower-action games, fearsome character Atakhan is often born, bestowing a reward that serves as motivation for the team who defeats him to keep battling.

All members of the team gain an extra 40g every time they score a champion takedown. This includes assists and lasts for the rest of the game.
Every team member gains a one-time death mitigation that lasts for 150 seconds. Instead of dying, they will enter stasis for 2 seconds before returning to base after another 3.5 seconds. The enemy who would have been awarded the kill instead gets 100g and 1 Blood Petal for their team.

Ruinous Atakhan’s Buff In League Of Legends

Ruinous Atakhan spawns in higher-action games and grants the team that slays him a scaling buff.

The team gains a 25% increase to all Epic Monster rewards for the rest of the game, such as the stats provided by killing Dragons. This also applies to objectives already taken.
Each member will receive 6 Blood Petals.
6 Large and 6 small Blood Rose Plants will then spawn around his pit, allowing the team to choose who kills them to gain more stats.

What Are Blood Roses & Petals In League Of Legends

Blood Roses are a recently introduced flora in the Rift, and they commonly appear close to champion deaths and Atakhan’s Pit. Additionally, they emerge following the defeat of Ruinous Atakhan.

Champions can earn lasting Blood Petals by harvesting these plants. This new stackable bonus provides various benefits as outlined below.

25 XP, although this can increase by up to 100% for players with a low K/D/A.
1 Adaptive Force, which is either converted into AD or AP.

There are two versions, small and large.

Small Blood Roses grant 1 Blood Petal.
Large Blood Roses grant 3 Blood Petals.
