Among Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land, Tower of Aghasba, and Once Human, I’m keen on gathering resources in every open-world title I dive into for gameplay.

However, what truly delights me is creating customized workspaces, where I can arrange my items and fashion distinctive pieces of furniture. Although collecting resources might seem laborious, the thrill of finding uncommon and exceptional materials surpasses all else.

Just like in other games, the housing system in Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land allows me to construct personalized bases anywhere on the map. Once built, I have the freedom to utilize these bases however I choose.

Let’s review some base-building basics without further ado and help you set up a new base.

Where Can You Build?

There are three kinds of locations suitable for construction. One of them includes your initial workshop (referred to as Atelier), campsites, and zones intended for building, which become accessible after cleansing a mana-bound region.

On the map, you’ll notice both house and campsite symbols. These spots serve as locations where you can establish your bases. However, it’s important to note that not all of these sites can be found easily; you’ll need to investigate the question mark symbols to discover some of them. Additionally, a few building areas are inaccessible until you complete certain quests.

Every region within a building has a specific capacity for the number of pieces of furniture it can hold. The game will not let you add any more items once the construction limit has been reached at a particular site.

Know The Requirements

Now for the challenging aspect: When selecting a construction site, don’t forget to factor in the building expenses. To check this, simply navigate to the ‘Building’ tab within the radial menu.

Walking onto a construction site, I immediately spot an orange-marked boundary that outlines the building zone. To reveal more details about my surroundings, I just need to press the key linked with the detailed display (Q on my keyboard), then select the building menu by clicking on it.

For each item, there will be certain materials needed. You can swiftly create these materials if the item is not in stock. Additionally, the control options are conveniently displayed on the menu, eliminating the need to memorize specific keyboard shortcuts.

To master all the detailed commands, I recommend exploring the Key Bindings section within the Options menu. But remember, many fundamental controls can already be seen on your display, including toggling grid snapping, moving around, selecting items, creating new objects, and positioning facilities.

Building The Base

As a gamer stepping into this new virtual world, I find myself at the starting point – Atelier. It’s my first workshop, but it seems a bit cramped for the grand adventures ahead. Although I can set up some basic facilities here, there’s barely room for additional furniture or the top-tier equipment that becomes available as the game progresses.

In order to improve our current facilities’ productivity, we have some necessary furniture and equipment. However, we require a larger area to accommodate these items. I suggest completing the initial story quests to cleanse the Manabound region and discover a sizable location for our primary base.

Consider constructing these unique structures at sites marked with a hut symbol. If you’re looking to save time and avoid designing a base from the ground up, feel free to take advantage of the pre-designed buildings offered within the game.

Additionally, there are unique upgrades to your facilities that become available through the advancement of the Pioneering endeavor. These enhancements will further improve your current setup. However, it’s important to note that these upgrades do require some time to acquire as you must explore various areas and complete specific assignments along the way.

I recommend setting up a basic workstation that includes a Simple Altar, Container, Recipe Recall Station, and Workbench. This setup provides the essential tools required to advance in easy mode, allowing you to create crucial quest items.

To create room for any of these items, simply choose the hand icon available in the building menu. Then, move or eliminate an existing item using this tool.
