ATL FaZe Roster Comes Under Fire Following Landmark CDL Loss

As a long-time fan who has witnessed Atlanta FaZe‘s dominance for years, this sudden turn of events is a bitter pill to swallow. I have been with them through thick and thin, from their glorious victories to their heartbreaking defeats. This 0-3 loss to the Royal Ravens is undoubtedly one of the most unexpected twists in their journey.

For the first time in 587 days, Atlanta FaZe suffered a 0 – 3 defeat in the qualifying round of a CDL Major. This loss was inflicted by the powerful Carolina Royal Ravens team, who cornered FaZe in the hundred-point club during the initial Hardpoint match, and from then on, things only got worse for FaZe.

In the qualifiers, Atlanta FaZe currently stands at a 0-3 record and hasn’t managed to earn any CDL Points since the 2025 season began. Normally, Atlanta FaZe is the top-performing team during the regular season, but at the moment, they’re matching up with the Vegas Falcons in terms of their performance.

Is it time for a roster change?

Paradigm Shift

Ever since the Call of Duty League was established in 2020, Atlanta FaZe has proven to be a dominant and reliable presence within the gaming community. The team, made up of Simp, aBeZy, Cellium, and (Drazah, who has been part of the squad since last season), has consistently been a force to be reckoned with for quite some time now. However, this current season has begun on a rather dismal note, causing some to question their form.

During the era of the Cold War, Atlanta’s team reached its zenith, bagging three significant tournaments and the CDL Championship. However, the following year saw them fail to secure a single victory. When Modern Warfare II was released, only one Major tournament win was on the agenda for the team.

In the current year, FaZe Clan etched their names into esports history by clinching the inaugural Esports World Cup trophy in the Call of Duty Multiplayer category. However, the triumph has not translated well for the team as they’ve struggled at the beginning of the 2025 CDL season, enduring a string of three consecutive defeats.

Historically speaking, Atlanta FaZe suffered a defeat against Royal Ravens. The initial Hardpoint established the rhythm for the competition, as FaZe lost ground in P2 with 42 points and managed only 88 by the game’s conclusion. During their journey from P1 to P4, they could barely score, gathering just 24 points along the way, feeling fortunate even to salvage a few points on the hills.

Do you think a change is needed, or do Atlanta FaZe just need to find their fit in Black Ops 6?
