Atomfall: Every Recipe Ranked

Atomfall encompasses several distinct gaming categories. It’s a blend of action shooting, immersive exploration, mystery-solving detective work, and role-playing elements. Fundamentally, though, it’s also a survival game, and that primarily involves resource gathering and crafting.

In the world of Cumberland, crafting skills are almost indispensable for survival due to the scarcity of ammunition and the unfriendly nature of outlaws. Therefore, it is crucial to create numerous bandages and improvised explosives to help you endure.

Before you start creating those items, it’s essential first to grasp the recipes for each one, along with the necessary materials. But be aware that these items are scarce, so understanding which ones are valuable to craft will prove profitable.

In essence, we’ll be organizing every member within Atomfall, enabling you to maximize the potential of all your crafting resources more effectively, if I may say so.

13. Burn Salve

Burn, Baby, Brun

In my opinion, choosing to use the Burn Salve in Atomfall was unnecessary for me, given how severe burn damage can be in this game. This is because, by the time a player reaches for one of these items on their menu, they are usually already close to dying due to the intense burn damage.

If you’ve set a shortcut for it or if you manage to avoid getting hit directly by a Molotov or a robot’s flamethrower, then yes, it could potentially come in handy.

Yet, I could never locate an instance where this was feasible at all, rendering it more advantageous theoretically than practically.

12. Radiation Resistance

Crawl Out Through The Fallout

Although it’s not entirely worthless, since certain parts of the game are shrouded in radiation intense enough to make a Geiger counter jive, these areas are relatively scarce. As a result, the usefulness of the Radiation Resistance Recipe is limited at most times.

This particular recipe can be discovered in either the Medical wing of The Interchange or the Skethermoor Protocol Bunker; however, unless you enjoy delving deep into every hidden corner of the game, there’s no real need to specifically hunt it down.

In the game, there are just a few places that have been irradiated, and even fewer spots with valuable items or loot that make it worth venturing into the smog. As a result, this recipe doesn’t score very high on my list.

11. Makeshift Grenade

A Homemade Grenade

As a gamer, let me tell you straight up, going against a gang of bandits with only a melee weapon isn’t exactly smart thinking. But if I’m being completely honest, the Makeshift Grenade doesn’t feel like much of an upgrade from that primitive strategy.

The Homemade Grenade serves as a lower-impact, area-affecting alternative to the regular grenade. You can craft it with ease, and acquiring the necessary recipe is possible by interacting with Reg in the Slate Mines.

However, it’s an item that soon becomes obsolete as you find more recipes.

As a gamer, I’ve found that stumbling upon this strategy early in the game can give me an edge. However, I’ve also learned the hard way not to depend on it for extended periods. It’s all about adapting and evolving with the game, my friend!

10. Shiv

Give ‘Em A Jab

In the majority of recipes found in Atomfall, items are either meant to be thrown or consumed. However, there’s one unique recipe that enables you to create a weapon instead.

The Shiv serves as a fundamental close combat tool, though it may not be effective for taking down individuals at very close distances. In an emergency, however, it can be utilized as a substitute or even thrown away if needed.

This item serves as a versatile throwing weapon when necessary. If you’ve mastered the skill required for projectile weapons, it becomes quite lethal. What’s more, they are cost-effective to produce, can be retrieved after use, and prove incredibly valuable for stealth tactics during the early stages of the game.

You can acquire this recipe either early in the game from Molly The Tinker in Slatten Dale, or later on for free from Skethermoor Prison. If you prefer using throwable melee weapons in combat, this recipe is worth remembering.

9. Nail Bomb

Nailed It

If you require an item that can handle multiple opponents over a broad space, the nail bomb is just the right choice for you.

Because of the extensive spreading of explosive nails, they have the ability to inflict harm on a large number of opponents simultaneously. However, it’s important to note that while their impact is seldom lethal, the collective force of the explosion will make them more vulnerable and cause them to succumb quicker due to the blast effect.

There are several places where you can discover the instructions for making this item, including striking a deal with Nora in Skethermoor, or finding Brinsop Manor.

In different terms, these aren’t initial game spots, so they could require some time, but this strategy proves useful when you find yourself in circumstances where you’re significantly outmatched.

8. Molotov Cocktail

A Twisted Firestarter

In video games, when it comes to tossable objects, there are two common ones. One is the simple grenade, while the other takes the shape of a flaming Molotov cocktail.

In video game combat, two popular options for throwing are the straightforward grenade and the incendiary Molotov cocktail.

Learning how to make a Molotov Cocktail can be quite useful in this game, since setting things on fire is an incredibly efficient way to eliminate both you and your opponents.

If you manage to gather all the adversaries in one spot, you could ignite them and then stealthily retreat, allowing them to perish gradually from the fire as it burns down.

This particular recipe is available at the Brewery Cellar within Wyndham Village, and also in several other locations on your map. While there are certainly superior throwable options later in the game, this one serves as an effective early-game choice.

7. Poison Bomb

Pick Your Poison

When it comes to applying status effects in Atomfall’s recipes, Molotov Cocktails aren’t the only option available. A more chemically-oriented choice would be the Poison Bomb.

Instead of behaving like a Molotov cocktail, this object causes a toxic status upon impact. This means that after throwing it, you can quickly move to a safe distance, as the poison takes care of the situation.

In the mystical realm of Casterfell Woods, you can find the secret to this tantalizing recipe hidden in the stall of Sam Gorse, a trader known for his striking blue eyes that seem as deep as the woods themselves. Though he may appear gruff and intimidating at first glance, trust me, he’s got a heart warmer than any hot dish you might find there. Swing by his place if you dare – I promise it’ll be worth your while!

This particular method may not be very effective when it comes to combating robots since they don’t feel pain or fear, but it could be extremely beneficial in dealing continuous harm and maintaining safety from enemy humans who hide behind cover.

6. Combat Stim

Melee Monster

In the game Atomfall, it’s unavoidable that you’ll eventually exhaust your supply of ammunition. When this happens, the challenges you face will multiply exponentially, and if there are adversaries hot on your trail, the situation will become particularly daunting.

In this situation, it seems you would have to resort to hand-to-hand combat or close-quarter weapons to escape trouble. However, if you possess the recipe for Combat Stim, there’s a chance you could survive and share your story afterwards.

With this mixture, you can boost your close-combat damage significantly, essentially putting you in a state of berserk fury where you can effortlessly overcome any adversaries using raw power.

This particular recipe is either stored in the Windfall Bunker or the Skethermoor Prison, making it somewhat difficult to obtain and less common. However, once you manage to get hold of it, you’ll find it incredibly useful for repeated uses.

5. Bandage

’Tis But A Scratch

Oh, the simple yet essential bandage. At the outset of the game, this is one remedy you’re automatically equipped with. Besides the occasional First Aid Kits you may stumble upon, it’s your sole method for recovery within the game.

One item requires just alcohol and fabric for its creation, making it simple to amass large quantities. Notably, utilizing this item grants temporary blood resistance as well.

This recipe might seem ordinary or unexciting at first glance, but it plays a crucial role in making Atomfall more pleasant to experience. Therefore, we value it quite highly.

4. Sticky Bomb

For Sticky Situations

Among all the grenade options available for personal crafting, I find nothing superior to the Sticky Bomb. As its name implies, it adheres to whatever you toss it onto and then detonates.

As a fan, I’d say using Sticky Bombs is an excellent choice in combat situations. The precision they offer when it comes to affecting an area makes them incredibly useful, and the damage they deal, coupled with their proximity, is nothing short of fantastic. All in all, they are a versatile and reliable option that I highly recommend.

The main challenge here is that the recipe might be tricky to locate. However, if you’re determined to try it out, don’t forget to verify the coordinates (32.8E, 81.1N). Alternatively, track down Convoy Five and follow its path until you reach your destination.

3. Antidote

Suck The Venom Out

For casual players, dealing with poison isn’t too challenging since the game difficulty is lower. However, for those playing on tougher settings, having a recipe for an Antidote could be incredibly beneficial.

As a gamer, I always make sure to keep an antidote stash at hand while navigating the treacherous Casterfell Woods, filled with swarms of rats and mutated poison-spewing flora. It’s better to be prepared than to suffer the agony of watching my health deplete painfully to zero because I didn’t have an antidote on me.

To obtain this recipe, you can find it by paying a visit to Mother Jago, who resides near the Old Mine within the Casterfell Woods. Be prepared for encounters with some Druids during your journey, but remember that the valuable life-saving medicine you’ll get is well worth any challenges you may face along the way.

2. Painkillers

Ease The Pain

Since superior healing supplies like potions are scarce, it’s beneficial to find an item that boosts your durability during combat.

Pain relievers essentially enhance your resilience against harm for a specified duration, and their effectiveness can be amplified by acquiring specific abilities that extend the duration of their effects.

Painkillers are nearly indispensable when playing Atomfall on higher difficulty settings. Consequently, you’ll find this recipe quite early in the game.

In Wyndham Village’s Hardware Store, players can acquire this recipe by trading with Morris Wick. It’s beneficial to get it early as it provides an extra layer of durability when resources are scarce and you’re outmatched. This could mean the difference between winning or losing, or even escaping a tough situation.

1. Strange Tonic

Become One With The Soil

These recipes can’t really be ranked in terms of their authenticity because each one is beneficial for distinct circumstances.

In my opinion, it’s reasonable to conclude that the Strange Tonic Recipe stands out among the others due to its significance in unlocking multiple game endings and for making the final stages and Windscale significantly safer.

Following this recipe significantly boosts your resistance to infections, enabling you to traverse regions shrouded by blue infectious mists temporarily, a crucial advantage if you aim to delve into the Medical Tunnels or other areas like Windscale.

To obtain this particular recipe, you’ll need to venture into a perilous part of Casterfell Woods called Druid Castle, a notoriously hazardous location. But if you manage to assist Mother Jago and retrieve her lost book, you’ll find the recipe in the same place, making it a win-win situation!

This resource may not be a lethal grenade or a curative ointment, but it’s indispensable and our top choice among all the recipes presented.
