- Powerhouse will support projects from development to launch, focusing on bold games.
Mundfish, known for their work on Atomic Heart, is establishing a new publishing company named Mundfish Powerhouse. Atomic Heart, their debut project, had some technical problems upon release, but its captivating gameplay and intriguing storyline managed to attract gamers. Currently, Atomic Heart holds a 74 average rating from critics on OpenCritic and a Very Positive overall review rating on Steam.
In a fictional timeline of the Soviet Union, Mundfish’s initial game casts players as Major Sergey “P-3” Nechayev, a special agent with amnesia who possesses a sentient glove imbued with unique abilities. Navigating through the enigmatic Facility 3826 – a research facility teeming with diverse robots that inexplicably have turned hostile – P-3’s mission is threefold: to quell the uprising, retrieve his lost memories, and find a way to endure the ordeal.
On May 29th, Mundfish declared that the game “Atomic Heart” surpassed 10 million players across all available platforms, only two years after its debut. At the same time, the studio unveiled a new venture, Mundfish Powerhouse, which serves as more than just a publishing company. The announcement made it clear that this new operation is intended to be a “full-scale creative and operational partner,” providing assistance to other developers in bringing their projects to market.
Mundfish Will Be Opening a Publishing Company
Mundfish Powerhouse, with its experience gained from creating and releasing a hit game in 2023 and three subsequent DLCs, will offer its insights throughout the entire development process, from idea conception to team coordination to release. This move, announced by Robert Bagratuni, CEO and founder of Mundfish, was prompted by other studios seeking their advice. According to Bagratuni, the main focus of Mundfish Powerhouse will be on projects that have the capability to generate buzz and are ambitious in scope, aiming to establish a new benchmark for quality and creative daringness with “large-scale games.
…big and bold games that can set a new standard for quality and creative risk.
For developers, investors, and undoubtedly many enthusiasts, this development sparks anticipation. Gamers too are eager to see what Mundfish comes up with next, especially since their game, Atomic Heart, had three planned DLCs: Trapped in Limbo, Annihilation Instinct, and Enchantment Under the Sea, the last of which was released in January 2025. In 2023, Mundfish confirmed a sequel to Atomic Heart, but before that, they are working on one final DLC for the game.
