The creators of Atomic Heart, Mundfish, have unveiled additional information about the forthcoming third DLC, featuring a new character named Nastya. This first-person shooter, which takes place in an alternate post-apocalyptic Russia in an altered history, was released in February 2023 and garnered mixed reviews. Nevertheless, fans of Atomic Heart have been eagerly awaiting the gradual release of the four promised DLC since its initial launch.

To date, two expansion packs have been launched for this game. The first one, titled “Annihilation Instinct,” transports players to the period following the conclusion of the main narrative. This DLC primarily focuses on NORA, an artificial intelligence that operates the machines used by protagonist P-3 for inventory management and weapon upgrades. The second expansion, called “Atomic Heart , ” brings players back into Limbo, a somewhat hallucinogenic representation of the merged subconscious of P-3 and his deceased wife, Ekaterina.

In a change from the surreal “Trapped in Limbo,” Atomic Heart’s third DLC, titled “Enchantment Under the Sea,” will revert to a more stable setting. Scheduled for release on January 28, 2025, this expansion has been hinted at by developer Mundfish over several months. The team has unveiled screenshots, a gameplay trailer, and recently, an image of a new character named Nastya, a spectacled redhead whose countenance suggests she can handle the tumultuous world of Atomic Heart with ease.

In the trailer, it becomes clear that P-3 is back as the main character. A voiceover of his narration is heard. Additionally, Granny, known as Zinaida Muravyova, reappears in “Enchantment Under the Sea,” and players catch a sneak peek at P-3’s new glove in Atomic Heart, which has replaced Charles. This glove offers him access to two new abilities: Blaze, capable of launching area-of-effect fireballs, and Whip, functioning both as a grappling hook and a weapon. Mundfish also shared that, as anticipated, season pass holders will gain control over two new weapons: the electrified hammer called Thunderclap and the KM-4 Kuzmich, a customizable double-barrel shotgun with a spreadable barrel.
