Attack on Titan’s Perfect Replacement Anime Has Officially Been Announced

Attack on Titan is a globally popular anime that finished its run in 2023 after first premiering in 2013. Its conclusion left many fans searching for a new series to capture the same excitement, and now that series is on its way.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, a new anime project has been announced for Code Geass! It’s called Code Geass: Aspar the Star Chaser. Fans often compare Code Geass to Attack on Titan, and if this new series lives up to the quality of the original Code Geass, it could easily fill the void left by the end of Attack on Titan.

Code Geass’s New Anime is Coming to Replace Attack on Titan

The anime series Attack on Titan officially ended in 2023, and since then, fans have only received recap movies and a few minor updates as new content.

The popular anime series Code Geass is coming back, and if it lives up to expectations, it has the potential to become as big as Attack on Titan.

The latest anime installment, titled Code Geass Hoshi Oi no Aspar – or Code Geass: Aspar the Star Chaser – was recently revealed. It’s being created to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the popular Code Geass franchise.

Details about the new Code Geass anime are scarce, but fans are hoping it will live up to the quality of the original series, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

The Original Code Geass Can Be Put On The Same Level As Attack On Titan

Attack on Titan was a truly distinctive anime when it first came out, especially compared to other shows at the time. While it falls into the shonen genre, it’s notably more mature and gritty than most. Beyond its intense and often violent scenes, the show really captivated audiences with its compelling characters, particularly the protagonist, Eren Yeager.

The same could be true for Code Geass. It’s a more adult-oriented anime, but what really set it apart was its fantastic protagonist, Lelouch.

Lelouch is often ranked among the greatest anime protagonists of all time. Comparisons are frequently drawn between him and Eren, particularly regarding Eren’s character development in the later parts of the series after the time skip.

Code Geass: Hoshi Oi No Aspar Has The Potential To Stand Next To The OG Series

Fans of Code Geass are excited about the new installment, Code Geass: Hoshi Oi no Aspar, though some are understandably cautious. Previous follow-ups to the original anime haven’t lived up to the quality of Lelouch’s story.

The sequel movie Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture wasn’t well-received, and most fans considered it only average. Bokuko no Akito was a slight improvement, but didn’t live up to the quality of the original series.

If the new Code Geass series is anything like Rozé, it won’t be a satisfying substitute for Attack on Titan. Let’s hope the writers can create a story that’s as epic and impactful as the original Lelouch of the Rebellion.

Many fans are hoping the new anime will move away from Lelouch’s story and create its own fresh and engaging narrative.
