The expansion to additional platforms has been a long-awaited dream for fans like me, who have eagerly awaited the chance to explore the depths of Moria alongside my fellow gamers.

Free Range Games unveiled the 1.0 launch of “The Lord of the Rings: Back to Moria” on Steam and Xbox Series X|S, set for August 27. The title is already playable on the Epic Games Store and PlayStation 5, and fans of “The Lord of the Rings: Back to Moria” have been eagerly waiting for its release on these additional platforms.

2023 sees the launch of one game – “Lord of the Rings: Back to Moria” – set within J.R.R. Tolkien’s enchanted realm. This survival crafting adventure delves further into the Mines of Moria post-destruction of the Ring. Gimli, the legendary dwarf, reappears as the leader of the dwarves, with players assuming command of a miner caught in the mines following an explosion, part of the excavation crew tasked with uncovering their hidden secrets.

On August 27, 2024, “Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria” is set to launch on Steam and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $19.99. Not only that, but crossplay functionality will be introduced, enabling gamers to play together with up to seven friends, irrespective of the device they’re using. For those opting for a solo adventure, the much-anticipated single player pause feature will also be incorporated.

Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria Launching Golden Update on August 27

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that we’ve got an incredible update coming our way, dubbed The Golden Update! This epic overhaul promises fresh content across all game versions. For fans of Sandbox Mode like me, version 1.0 is getting a boost with the addition of Moria’s non-linear exploration. That’s right, we can now freely roam through this legendary mine without being constrained by the main storyline.

In addition to Sandbox Mode, you’ll find fresh crafting options in Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria. The updates bring changes to base construction and introduce new structures to assemble. There are 14 new weapons and armor sets to uncover their blueprints, along with over 100 different building objects, such as new lights, tables, and rugs. Weapons and Armor can only be found in Sandbox Mode; however, if you equip these items on a character before transferring to the main storyline, they will carry them forward.

The latest update for “Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria,” titled Golden Update, doesn’t delve deeper into the history of the dwarves within the Mines of Moria. Nevertheless, it introduces the Sandbox Mode feature that could potentially pave the way for future updates, enriching the game with more Middle-earth lore. With a surge in new players on Xbox and Steam platforms, there’s a possibility for further expansions to this unique survival game set within Middle-earth.
