Fans are really enjoying the recent wave of survival horror games from Capcom, especially the remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4, as well as Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil Revelations. It’s been a long journey since the original Resident Evil first appeared on PlayStation, followed by the first official remake for GameCube in 2002. That version was later updated for Wii in 2008, and then received a high-definition remaster on PC, PlayStation 3 & 4, and Xbox 360 & One in 2015. The game even came to Nintendo Switch in 2019. However, many players still hope for a modern remake using Capcom’s RE Engine. While not an official remake, a detailed recreation of the Spencer Mansion in The Sims 4 has given fans a taste of what a revitalized version of the original Resident Evil could be like.
