In Avowed, the initial region is Dawnshore, where Captain Henqua’s Booty, a hidden treasure map, resides. This map can be discovered on top of the lighthouse, situated to the west of Calviger’s Landing, nestled in the southern part of the map and your first stop within The Living Lands. To ascend the lighthouse, make your way to its base and utilize ledges and support structures to scale upwards in a continuous spiral motion around the building. Your diligent search for this treasure will be generously rewarded with a top-tier quality shield, an acquisition you’d typically have to wait longer to obtain.

Where to find Captain Henqua’s Spoils

Once you’ve retrieved the map from atop the lighthouse, journey along the river heading north until you spot an archway across the water that appears damaged, positioned very close to the Western Pargrun Wall Beacon’s fast travel marker.

On the southern side of the arch, go to the river bed and look for a large amount of roots.

Dive into the water and search for a tiny entrance pointing westward, as it will lead you to a cave containing both a shield and a treasure chest within.

Collecting the shield will mark the quest as complete.

Discovering this treasure will grant you the exceptional Wind and Wave Superior Shield. Distinctive for its benefits, it offers a 10% increase in movement speed and a 20% resistance against Frost Accumulation. Moreover, it’s of superior quality compared to the shields available at Dawnshore, enhancing your ability to endure damage. It is worth noting that unique weapons, armor sets, and shields like this one can have their passive stats upgraded at camp using materials obtained from monsters.
