Bad News For Team Red, The 32 GB RX 9070 XT Is Not Real

Summary

  • AMD debunks leak about 32GB RX 9070 GPU option
  • RX 9700 XT will only be available with 16GB
  • Pricing for RX 9700 XT rumored to be around $500

It appears the rumor about AMD developing a Radeon RX 9070 GPU featuring 32GB of memory has been proven false.

According to a representative from AMD (as reported by Videocardz), the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT will not feature different memory capacity variants upon its release; instead, it will exclusively be available in 16GB configurations.

AMD Fans Hoping for More VRAM In the RX 9700 XT Will Stay Hoping

According to Frank Azor, the Chief Architect for Gaming Solutions and Marketing at AMD, he has officially confirmed that the RX 9700 XT won’t be introduced with a 32GB variant.

Even though the potential benefits between the 16GB and 32GB versions of the RX 9700 XT might not be substantial based on the speculations available online, the extra VRAM would still be beneficial, particularly if the price point remains affordable.

Unfortunately, this card will offer just 16GB of memory, placing it alongside Nvidia’s RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 in terms of storage capacity. The retail price for these Nvidia cards is speculated to be $749.99 (for the RTX 5070 Ti) and $999.99 (for the RTX 5080), respectively, if you manage to find them at those prices. As for AMD’s RX 9700 XT, unconfirmed reports hint that it might cost around $500.

AMD’s Radeon RX 9700 XT is expected to launch sometime this March.
