At the beginning of each level in Ball x Pit, you start with simple balls that don’t do much damage. But as you play, you’ll unlock more powerful balls, each with its own special ability. Eventually, you can even combine two strong balls to create Fusions – even more powerful balls with multiple effects.

Evolutions create completely new balls with unique effects when two balls combine, while Fusions simply merge two balls together. With Fusions, both balls retain their original effects, but become more powerful and are activated as a single unit. This can free up space in your inventory for other helpful items.

10. Laser Vertical X Bleed

Make them Bleed

Using both Laser Vertical and Bleed balls is a powerful combination. It damages every enemy in a single column and also applies a bleed effect, making them take increased damage from subsequent attacks. Essentially, it sets up a column of enemies to receive extra damage over time.

Bleed is a top-tier ability in Ball x Pit because it significantly weakens enemies it hits, making them much easier to take down. Using the vertical laser from this fusion to inflict bleed on more enemies will help you clear waves faster.

9. Vampire X Earthquake

Gain Health Through AoE Damage

In Ball x Pit, the Vampire ball is really useful because it both hurts opponents and restores your health over time. Combining it with the Earthquake ball creates a powerful effect: you’ll constantly regain health while also dealing damage to enemies all around you – it’s a great combination!

Vampire works well with pretty much any area-of-effect (AoE) ball, but I’ve found Earthquake to be the best pairing. It hits the most tiles and does a lot of damage. Plus, Earthquake balls show up often, so you can upgrade it quickly.

8. Burn X Poison

A Deadly Combination

In Ball x Pit, using balls that deal damage over time is essential, and Burn and Poison are two of the strongest choices. If you combine them into a Fusion, enemies will suffer from both effects, resulting in significant, continuous damage.

This ball significantly speeds up how quickly enemies are defeated, requiring fewer hits to eliminate them. This makes clearing the screen much easier, preventing enemies from overwhelming you at the bottom. By stopping enemies from reaching their attack position, you’ll also stay alive longer.

7. Ghost X Earthquake

Send the Earthquake Everywhere

Earthquake is a powerful area-of-effect ability that damages tiles in a four-tile radius around where it lands. You can increase its range by using it with Ghost, which lets the Earthquake pass through enemies before returning to you.

The Earthquake ability will now hit multiple enemies as the energy ball travels, effectively damaging all foes in its path before returning to you. This makes it easier to clear out groups of enemies, creating breathing room and preventing you from being overwhelmed.

6. Dark X Lightning

High Damage and AoE

Dark and Lightning is a powerful combination because it excels at both focusing intense damage on a single enemy and hitting multiple surrounding tiles. When fused to level 3 (Dark combined with Lightning), it deals 5 times the normal damage, allowing you to quickly eliminate tough enemies and making it especially effective against bosses.

The Dark x Lightning Fusion has a short delay – three seconds – before you can use it again. However, its area-of-effect ability helps your other attacks clear tiles more quickly and efficiently, giving you more time to react. A level 3 version of this Fusion, for instance, can deal up to 190 damage to five enemies around it.

5. Brood Mother X Freeze

Stop Them In Their Tracks

The Freeze ability is very effective in Ball x Pit, allowing you to halt enemies and increase damage. When used with Brood Mother, you can freeze even more enemies, as the smaller balls it creates also apply the freeze effect.

This creates several ice balls that can freeze many enemies simultaneously, potentially an entire row or column. Freezing enemies makes them take 25% more damage at level 3 and also slows them down, giving you more time to defeat them before they can attack.

4. Wind X Brood Mother

More Baby Balls

The Brood Mother is a rare but powerful ball. When it hits an enemy, there’s a chance it will create a smaller ‘baby’ ball. Combining it with the Wind ball, which can go through enemies, increases the chances of spawning these baby balls because it will hit more targets.

The Wind ball is especially helpful because it slows down enemies, giving you more time to defeat them before they reach the bottom. Plus, with the Brood Mother creating extra baby balls, your overall damage significantly increases.

3. Magma X Burn

Set the Arena on Fire

The Magma x Burn Fusion is a powerful ability that sets enemies and the surrounding area on fire, damaging almost everything in front of you. However, it’s tricky to unlock – you’ll first need to create the Magma Evolution by combining the Magma and Earthquake abilities after earning an Evolution.

Magma X Burn lets players create lava pools that continuously damage enemies and inflict the Burn status effect, causing additional damage over time. The area damage from the Magma ability also applies Burn, meaning enemies can quickly accumulate multiple instances of the effect, covering a large area and impacting many foes.

2. Nuclear Bomb X Maggot

Make Things Go “Boom”

The Nuclear Bomb is a powerful ball in Ball x Pit, but it takes some effort to obtain. You create it by first combining Burn and Iron – Burn is fairly common, but Iron is harder to find. Once you have Bomb, you then need to combine it with Poison. Finally, combining the Nuclear Bomb with Maggot creates an incredibly strong Fusion.

The Nuclear Bomb x Maggot is a powerful explosive that does initial damage on impact and also inflicts enemies with Maggots. These Maggots continue to deal damage over time. A Level 3 Nuclear Bomb x Maggot can deal 308-578 damage initially, plus ongoing damage from the Maggots. When the Maggots finish off enemies, they release smaller projectiles for even more damage.

1. Vampire Lord X Holy Laser

The Best Combination

Combining two Evolutions can result in incredibly powerful Fusions. For example, combining Sacrifice and Vampire creates Vampire Lord, and combining Laser (Vertical) and Laser (Horizontal) creates Holy Laser. When you fuse Vampire Lord and Holy Laser together, you get what many consider to be the strongest Fusion in the game.

The Vampire Lord ability causes enemies to bleed, dealing damage over time, and also slightly heals you. Holy Laser, on the other hand, damages enemies in a line and across a row. Combining these two abilities lets you survive longer, quickly weaken enemies with bleeding damage, and hit many enemies simultaneously.
