The registration for the upcoming closed beta test of “Blue Protocol: Star Resonance” is now open! If you’re excited to get a sneak peek at Bandai Namco’s anime MMORPG before everyone else, you have until mid-August 2025 to sign up. The “Blue Protocol: Star Resonance” beta is expected to start shortly after registrations close.
In December 2022, Bandai Namco teamed up with Amazon Games to bring “Blue Protocol” to the Western regions. However, unfortunately, Bandai Namco closed down the game in January 2025, before their plans could come to fruition. With the closure already set in stone, SBNT (Shanghai Baokela Network Technology) declared in December 2024 that they were reviving the IP under the title “Blue Protocol: Star Resonance”. This new game takes place in the same world as the original but introduces a fresh set of characters and an entirely new narrative. Similar to the canceled MMO it follows, “Star Resonance” was intended for a global release.
Before the worldwide launch of Blue Protocol, SBNT has announced they will conduct a closed beta test towards the end of summer. Registration is open and will close on August 14. If you register before then, you’ll receive an access code between August 15 and 20. Although SBNT hasn’t specified an exact start date for Blue Protocol’s beta yet, they mentioned that it will last for at least ten days. The final length of the test may vary depending on how things go in the initial stages; if there are major server problems, SBNT might extend the beta after resolving them to ensure their fixes work effectively – a common practice for tests like these within the gaming industry.
How To Sign Up for Blue Protocol: Star Resonance Closed Beta
- Complete the recruitment questionnaire.
- Alternatively, join the Blue Protocol: Star Resonance Discord server and participate in server-wide events that will award access codes.
Notification emails regarding participation in the beta will be sent out to all accepted individuals between August 15th and August 20th, 2025.
For the pre-release version of the upcoming anime MMORPG, Blue Protocol: Star Resonance, it’s been confirmed that in-app purchases will be included. However, the developer hasn’t specified exactly what types of transactions will be available during the beta phase. They did mention though, that all progress made during the testing period won’t transfer over to the final game, as a full reset is planned post-test. If you decide to make any purchases during the beta, you’ll get your money back through a refund system when the game launches. More details about this refund policy can be found on the official Blue Protocol: Star Resonance website.

Additionally to registering through an online Google Form, enthusiasts can attempt to secure a beta key by participating in the game’s Discord server, where SBNT frequently hosts giveaways. As of July 28th, the server boasts more than 44,500 members. The forthcoming test is exclusive to PC, but plans are underway for the game to be released on mobile devices as well.
The requirements for the beta version of Blue Protocol: Star Resonance are quite reasonable, allowing it to run smoothly even on relatively old graphics cards such as the GTX 1060. Although no global release date has been set yet, its recent launch in China and the announcement of a beta indicate that a worldwide debut could be happening soon within the next few months.
