Batman: Bat-Family Characters Who Need an Arkham Game

As a long-time fan of the Batman universe, I must say that each one of these characters has their unique charm and compelling storylines. However, if I were to choose one character who deserves their own game the most, it would have to be Nightwing – Dick Grayson himself.

Across the Batman Arkham series, members of the Bat-Family have made appearances, yet none have starred in their individual games. Characters such as Barbara Gordon’s Batgirl headlined separate DLC packages, but many other outstanding Bat-Family heroes are due a dedicated Arkham game.

Regardless if they’ve already appeared, been highlighted, or are brand new characters, there’s a rich array of intriguing Batman family members who could carry on the exceptional legacy of Batman video games in the Arkhamverse.

6 Cassandra Cain’s Batgirl

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve always found Cassandra Cain to be one of the most captivating characters within Batman’s circle, arguably his strongest. Her mother, Lady Shiva, has already made her mark in the Arkhamverse through games like “Batman: Arkham Origins.” It’s not hard to imagine Cassandra stepping into Gotham as its newest protector, a role she seems more than ready for.

Cassandra Cain abstains from taking lives, and her upbringing has left her without a typical childhood, thereby denying her a normal life experience. Becoming part of the Bat-Family, Cassandra Cain excels in combat to the extent that she could potentially outmatch even Batman. Watching her spearhead her own game would likely attract new admirers for this character.

5 Batwoman

As a devoted admirer, I find myself drawn to the captivating character of Batwoman. Just like my esteemed cousin did before me, I’ve chosen to don the bat-themed armor and stand against crime in Gotham City. However, unlike Batman, my background is steeped in military discipline, giving me a unique edge in our shared mission.

In the universe of Arkham, it’s established that both Renee and Kate are characters. This confirms the existence of Kate. However, what makes Kate intriguing is a voicemail from her in Batman: Arkham Knight, which seems to suggest she had already assumed the role of Batwoman at that time. It would be engaging to witness her distinctive combat style and her struggle with the no-kill rule in a separate game, given these elements.

4 Damian Wayne’s Robin

The Son of Batman and Talia Al Ghul Could Provide New Lore

As a gamer, I’ve found myself pondering over the possibility of Batman having a son. Some fans might find this concept unsettling given that Talia was supposedly killed in Batman: Arkham City. But hey, comics are full of surprises! What if Talia is brought back to life by the mystical Lazarus Pit? And what if she kept a secret son hidden from Batman, training him to follow in the footsteps of her father, Ra’s al Ghul, as the next Demon’s Head? That would certainly make for an interesting twist!

For many years, it was hidden from Batman that Damian was born, given their romantic past in the Arkhamverse. Therefore, it wouldn’t be unexpected if Batman were to father another Robin. The character of Damian Wayne could provide an engaging storyline, as he juggles his training under the League of Assassins with his father’s desire to be a non-lethal hero, while simultaneously envisioning a future Gotham City.

3 Red Hood

An Anti-Hero with a Death Wish

Jason Todd is an unusual and somewhat detached figure within the Bat-Family circle. Following his demise at the Joker’s hands, Jason adopted the identity of his previous tormentor, transforming into Red Hood – a lethal vigilante who would perform actions that Batman himself never could. The memory of Batman’s former Robin and second protege continues to haunt Bruce Wayne, more so now as he took on the role of Arkham Knight within the Arkhamverse.

As Red Hood gains momentum, we may uncover intriguing plot developments, such as dealing with the lingering effects of Joker’s torment, navigating resentment and rejection from Batman, and attempting to save Gotham using methods that question whether lethal force is truly justified in a city plagued by crime.

2 Catwoman

A Master Thief and the Lover of Batman

For many years, Selina Kyle’s tale has been closely connected with Batman’s. The Arkhamverse hints at their budding romance on several occasions. Although Catwoman’s story may conclude following her retirement to a tropical location after swindling the Riddler in “Batman: Arkham Knight”, it would be intriguing to witness her emerge from retirement for one final heist that she just can’t seem to shake off.

In her interactions with Batman’s rogues, Catwoman forges complex bonds – a friendship with Poison Ivy and a fierce rivalry with Two-Face. It’s intriguing to explore further relationships Selina might have, and exciting to imagine the mischief she could cause in her own storyline, which may not always align with the rest of Batman’s associates.

Dick Grayson was initially adopted by Bruce Wayne following the murder of his parents during their trapeze act at Haley’s Circus. As a ward under Bruce, he learned the same martial arts and eventually took on the role of Robin to help Batman, allowing him to cope with his grief and become the hero that Gotham required. In time, Dick Grayson evolved into more than just a reflection of Bruce Wayne, symbolizing something greater for the city.

A Nightwing video game might revolve around his fate as the potential successor to Batman in Gotham City, or it could simply offer an engaging experience by featuring Nightwing’s unique roster of villains in Bludhaven. It would provide opportunities to explore new tales and characters, a hero who truly deserves such recognition.
