The open beta phase for Battlefield 6 has concluded, but the complimentary stress test provided a sneak peek of the fresh maps incorporated in the game. Although only a few maps from Battlefield 6 were highlighted during the open beta, they demonstrated the close-range skirmishes and expansive landscapes that the series is renowned for.
During the initial weekend of the Battlefield 6 open beta, a limited number of maps were available for players. However, when the second weekend commenced, additional maps were incorporated into the rotation. Notably, these maps could be played in various game modes and smaller lobbies often occupied specific areas within them. Here are the most popular maps from the Battlefield 6 open beta, arranged according to their rankings.
Siege of Cairo
Strongest Showing Overall
Among all maps playable during the Battlefield 6 open beta, the Siege of Cairo stands out as a clear favorite. Its design seems reminiscent of a map from Battlefield 3, and it caters to every gameplay style that the franchise is renowned for.
In the upcoming game, Battlefield 6, a majority of combat takes place in narrow hallways and damaged structures, allowing the infantry to demonstrate their skills effectively. Despite this, vehicles are also crucial, especially on the Siege of Cairo map, where vast avenues act as risky zones for tanks to locate unsuspecting soldiers. This blend of infantry combat and vehicle warfare is reminiscent of Battlefield‘s signature style, and it’s expected that the Siege of Cairo will be among the top maps when the complete game launches later this year.
Liberation Peak
Excellent Showcase for Vehicles

On the opposite end of the map layout spectrum lies Liberation Peak. This map, unusually large among those showcased during the beta testing phase, boasts minimal protection options for ground troops, with only a few specific conquest flag locations providing cover as exceptions.
At Liberation Peak, various land and air vehicles dominate, providing an extensive variety not previously encountered by players. Tanks provide substantial force to objectives, while lighter vehicles facilitate squad mobility for strategic flanking maneuvers. Furthermore, the peak serves as an ideal location for snipers due to its long-range visibility and numerous targets at varying distances.
Iberian Offensive
Chaotic Indoor Firefights

The Iberian Offensive shares some resemblance with the Siege of Cairo, but it isn’t as engaging. Instead, it focuses heavily on intense infantry combats in close quarters, almost completely excluding vehicles – except for a very limited number of exceptions.
The map is designed to highlight the intense indoor battles in Battlefield 6, yet Battlefield truly shines when numerous factors influence a match concurrently. Although there’s ample room for destruction, the claustrophobic chaos of many soldiers within the same buildings doesn’t carry the same appeal as the more diverse Siege of Cairo.
Empire State
Needs Some Tweaks to Be Great

Among Battlefield 6’s maps, Empire State stands out as one of the most appealing thematically. However, in actual gameplay, it falls short of expectations. It is a compact, linear map devoid of vehicles and seems tailored specifically for modes such as Rush or Squad Deathmatch that focus on close combat.
On the Empire State Building, you’ll notice an abundance of height and structure, and with sufficient parkour abilities, you can even venture inside many of its buildings. However, this also puts you at risk from enemy players who might be hiding unseen, and the narrow alleyways can feel claustrophobic rather than exciting. While the Empire State Building holds great promise, it currently needs some improvements to reach its full potential and become truly exceptional.
As an eager fan, I can’t wait for Battlefield 6’s official launch in October! Not only will we get to explore a wider array of maps, but they’ll be significantly larger and packed with more vehicles. The open beta was just a taste of what’s to come, with the full release promising to fill in all the blanks.
Post-launch updates are also on the horizon for Battlefield 6, ensuring that our map rotation continues to grow even after the initial launch. I can hardly contain my excitement!
