Bots are back in Battlefield 6’s Verified Experiences after being temporarily removed to improve match quality. Players can now enjoy core modes like Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush with bots active. However, the update hasn’t fully satisfied the community, as servers can’t be completely filled with bots.
While the launch of Battlefield 6 was incredibly popular – breaking sales records and attracting over 700,000 players on Steam – it hasn’t been without problems. Like most ongoing online games, it needs regular updates to fix bugs and balance gameplay. However, Battlefield Portal has added extra complexity for the developers. At launch, players quickly discovered that progression was very slow, leading some to create automated programs (‘bot farms’) to quickly earn experience points. The developers quickly addressed this by reducing the experience earned from bots and removing them from certain game modes, but these changes haven’t pleased all players.
Bots Are Back in Battlefield 6 Verified Experiences
Bots are back in Battlefield 6‘s Verified Experiences after being removed for a couple of weeks. However, there are some limits: each game can have a maximum of 12 bots, so a match can’t be filled entirely with them. With bot backfill turned on, a game needs at least 8 players to start, and each side will have up to 6 bots. If backfill is off, you’ll need 20 players to begin a match. You’ll earn less experience from bots compared to players, but your own XP won’t be affected. While it’s not currently working perfectly, DICE says enabling bots shouldn’t impact your stats, and you’ll still be able to complete all challenges.
Players are unhappy with the reintroduction of bots to Battlefield 6 Portal servers, calling the changes insensitive to what the community wants. Many are also frustrated because pre-release advertising promised full progression in Portal, which is no longer happening. One Reddit user expressed the sentiment that if the developers can’t deliver what players requested, they should stop trying, stating players expect to earn full XP from bots. They also noted that players don’t want to wait in long queues to find matches.
Some Battlefield 6 players are frustrated to find matches filled with bots, but DICE explains this is to reduce wait times. Producer David Sirland recently tweeted that bots aren’t a permanent feature; they’re used to quickly start games and avoid long loading screens. While this is mainly affecting players in less populated regions, Sirland advises staying in the match even with bots, as they’ll be replaced by real players over time.
