The exact download sizes for Battlefield 6 are now known, and they’re smaller than many expected considering how large the game is. PC gamers can now see how much space they’ll need before Battlefield 6 pre-loads become available later this week.
The size of AAA game files has dramatically increased recently. This is because developers are focusing on better graphics, bigger game worlds, and more complicated ways to play. As a result, players often need to set aside hundreds of gigabytes of storage space for just one game. Newer Call of Duty games are particularly well-known for being very large. Many people anticipated that Battlefield 6 – EA’s newest competitor to Call of Duty – would also be a very large download, as it’s one of the most ambitious games in that series.
Battlefield 6 File Size on PC is Just Under 76 GB
However, the file size for Battlefield 6 is surprisingly small, especially when compared to other major first-person shooter games. Information from the EA App, shared by Twitter user Battlefield Intel, shows that Battlefield 6 will take up 75.97 GB on PC. This includes the core game, which needs 48.88 GB, and optional additions. Players can then download Battlefield 6‘s multiplayer content (5 GB), the single-player campaign (15 GB), and HD texture packs (423 MB and 7 GB). So, the total size of the Battlefield 6 single-player experience is 22 GB, and the multiplayer component, including the HD pack, needs just under 5.5 GB.
Battlefield 6‘s file sizes on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S haven’t been officially announced yet, but they might actually be smaller than the PC version. This is quite remarkable when you consider how good the graphics look and how much detail there is in the destruction within Battlefield 6. To give you an idea, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, released in 2024, needs more than 100 GB of storage space on PC, and the next installment, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, could be the same. EA and Battlefield Studios have said they’re focusing a lot more on making Battlefield 6 run efficiently, so it wouldn’t be a shock if a smaller file size was one of their goals.

As pre-loading for Battlefield 6 starts on Friday, October 3 and the game officially releases on October 10, excitement is building for EA’s newest first-person shooter. Early impressions from beta tests and previews indicate that Battlefield 6 represents a strong revival for the series, and it’s being seen as the biggest challenge to Call of Duty in a long time.
