It was already the best-selling game in the Battlefield series, with over 7 million copies sold, and now it’s reached another significant sales achievement.

Battlefield 6’s 10 Million Copies May Not Be Enough to “Overturn Call of Duty’s Overall Market Dominance”

According to Rhys Elliot at Alinea Analytics, Battlefield 6 has sold over 10 million copies on all platforms. However, he doesn’t believe this is enough to challenge Call of Duty’s leading position in the market, at least for this year. While Battlefield 6 is particularly popular with PC gamers, Elliot points out that Call of Duty is a dominant force across all platforms, with a much broader player base than just those on Steam and PC.

According to Elliot, the new Battlefield game is starting off well with players because it’s a big improvement over the previous one. Call of Duty, however, is facing some criticism. Players see it as trying too hard to be like Fortnite with its cosmetic items, and the games are starting to feel too similar. Despite this, Elliot doesn’t think these issues will hurt Call of Duty’s sales.

The analyst explained that Call of Duty has a huge player base on both computers and gaming consoles, and most of those players are casual gamers. These players buy the game every year simply because they’re used to it and like the brand. Call of Duty’s casual audience is much larger than Battlefield’s, and because of its connection to Warzone, millions of players are regularly seeing ads, promotions within the game, and social media content that encourages them to buy the latest version.
